Open Mike Night - Everyone is Welcome Part 3

Does anyone but me microwave marshmallows? I've been on a kick lately of making my own version of s'mores. Cinnamon graham crackers with a marshmallow on one half. Microwave 15 seconds, then put the tops on and squish down slightly. After they cool a few seconds they're like moon pies. Does anyone else do this. Or am I hopelessly weird.

I think I am going to go lay out in the sun.

Seems WT as attracted the attention of the DIS Boards Hates Club. They hate all cliques, us included. Yet, they fail to see that they are their own clique, just on a different website. They made a whole clique website and they are vicious!

Hi All,

How is everyone? I have a busy day ahead of me still. Tomorrow I am throwing a party for all my Girl Scouts, lots to do, then Friday I chaperone a field trip all day.

Utah I saw you were awake at two. Me too. I have not had a good night sleep in ages now. I noticed it really effects my memory (which is never good anyhow). I just want to sleep like a normal person.

Minnie-Moo, reading back I saw you said you are going to the Poly this fall. How fun. I have never stayed there, but I have visited.

Utah, wooo hooo!!! on the contacts. I don't think I could do it. Pretty sure I couldn't.

Everyone else (where did the smilie that waves go?)wishing you pixie dust :wizard:

Joe- thanks, I'm assured that I will get used to it. They just kept going inside out at each attempt. :rolleyes1 At least four child-friendly cuss words starting with "F" flew out of my mouth. In fact I made up a couple.

Brandt- I don't really have RLS, I just had seen a commercial for it and thought the Jimmy-Leg is a weird ailment. How you doin'?

Dre- COME BACK IN HERE, I saw you tippy toe-ing past.

HG- the NERVE of not capitalizing. I yam offended. ;) REALLY good to have you back.
Hey Utah, how you doin' (said in my best Joey Tribbiani impression ;) ) - you're right, it is a weird thing. And it's so hard to explain what it feels like. But the power of suggestion is terrible, because those commericals usually send me right into RLS!!

I had lots of trouble getting my contacts to go in/stay in when I first got them. And now I have the kind that you throw away every night, b/c I'm allergic to contact solution. But I promise, once you get used to them, you'll wonder what you ever did before them!

thanks! I have been meaning to track you down and find you! I am crashing the party here after a long hiatus away from the dis....not around alot, but i like some of the sweet peeps that stop here and missed a few of 'em. :yay:

i love humptey dumpty and i love puppys. what kind is he?

i refuse to use caps today....hope that is not offensive to anyone.:yay:

hey horsey , glad you found me. i've been laying low for some time and just came back out to play. i can totally go with lower case that's for sure. but i do need punctuation marks.

h is a beagle. he is 2 years old. my youngest made a promise to me and kept it and always wanted a beagle,so we surpised her with him.

don't be a stranger :goodvibes :goodvibes

If you put a big drop of solution on the back and just hold the contact next to your eye, all you will feel is a splash of water and it will be in. The only time you really touch your eye is taking them out. I think most people drag them downward and then pluck them out. I more or less just pinch them out. It does get easier. In the beginning, if they went in, it's because I got lucky. And I always needed a mirror. Now I can take them in or out in the dark! You'll be fine. Everyone is squeamish at first.

A drop in the bowl part? Pooh-girl's mom told me to stick it just below on the white part and blink them into place. I'll try anything. I wont give up, since I paid $70 for the exam!

You are hopelessly weird, but that's what I like most about you!!!!!

I have microwaved marshmallows topped on a graham cracker, covered with a chocolate blanket... When I HAD a microwave! You people with microwaves, HUG it next time you go into the kitchen!!! Just kidding. THAT would be on the weird side.

I have been trying to rest all day but I can't seem to shut down my brain or something because I just tossed and turned.

I see I missed Horsey.

Haley Moo and I were both talking about some day we would like to stay at the Poly. She is staying at POP.

I haven't really checked out most of the hotels only if I stayed there. Most meals were in the parks. Went by some of them and saw the signs.:lmao:

Maybe I will do more of that this time. That is why I love when people have pictures in their reports.

Kay not much of a mashmallow person. When we camp I play with them make torches and try to give them to the kids. :rotfl:

We went without a microwave after the kids started a fire in it trying to make smores. :rotfl:

My in-laws came for a visit and could not stand not having one for the week they were here, so they bought me a new one. I have the bestest in-laws. It makes up a little for the wacked out family I have.

hey everyone

i think i am getting a cold. I feel YUCKY!!
My kids are being stinkers as well, they keep jumping me and yelling AMBUSH!!

It's NAP time! 3/4 of my buddies are sleeping. ((Raise the roof!))

But, the DIS is competing for my time with a good book I'm starting. It's a dreary, cold, rainy day.

Make that 4 out of 4 asleep! ((Shhhhh!!!))

Spongie is coming over with nice big drinks for us to enjoy!!

Yes, a drop in the bowl part. I hold my eyelid up by placing a couple fingers against my eyelashes (left hand), then insert the contact using the index finger of my right hand. I hold the contact directly over the center of the pupil and just move my finger forward till I feel the little "spash" of moisture. Then it's in.

I forgot you were still microwaveless. No gloppy Marshmallows for you. Sorry!

NAB Marshmallow torches! :lmao: I'm getting a real visual on that!

Haley Yes, nice in-laws. In my case we gave my in-laws their first microwave. They joined the "high-tech-kitchen-gadget age" about 10 years ago. Now if only I could get MIL to use her dishwasher. She only uses it when I'm there to load and run it for her!

This is all true. I am me. A babynurse. Who is by her own admission addicted to dis games. I was also briefly a snack cracker, but have since retired. Like Michael Jordan, which means my snack cracker may come out one day and play again, but it won't be at the level it once was.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: She forgot to say that she is a RIOT (in a goog way) and smart and funny too!

OK, I just had something strange happen to me a little while ago. Our phone rang after midnight and it was a youngish-sounding girl making an obscene phone call :scared1:

Moo, it was me.

Moo, it was me.

Drats! Utah already claimed it.

Hello friends old and new and fiends, young and old!

Again super busy here on the prairie. But I will pop in with a bit o' advice...

NAB- get a storage unit! move 90% of the toys to the unit, 50% of the stuff and 100% of the clutter... also try to store out of season clothes, seasonal dishes... you can make do with half of your stuff. For reals! AND your family just might like living that way... so much easier to clean. I vacuumed twice today already. I have TWO showings today! Yee haw!!!

Utah- Ok first look at the contact... if it is "right" it looks like a bowl, if it is "wrong" it looks like a pasta bowl (curved but less so), put a drop of saline on it... repeat 5 times "I am only touching the contact NOT my eye".... and take a deep breath (and think of England.... 5 points for ANYONE who gets that reference)... now standing in front of a mirror look at yourself, now look out of the corner of your eye (I always look left :confused3 ), use one hand to open your eyelids (gently!) and the other to bring the contact towards the white part of your eye and gently set it there and remove your contact holding hand, now slowly move your eyes back towards looking at your self in the mirror... the contact will find the right spot, remove your hand and blink genty, now breathe again and say "I am one HOT MAMA and since I brought 4 kids into the world I can surely put in two little contacts." Repeat for other eye. :thumbsup2

MommyP- where is this anti clique clique????? That is almost as goog as all the little "non conforming" teenagers who dress alike. I must see! PM me if needed.

Poly- Thanks for the twinkie story. :)

Hiya everyone else!

Thanks Contact Lens advice givers!

;) <me winking as a lens falls into the sink....

I'll be fine. I am happy with the comfort. I dont care at this point that my left eye is blurry (but comfortable) WHO needs 2 eyes? Two eyes are for wussies! ((the perfect tag!!!!))

Now, stop disturbing my good book!

Uma - Whatcha reading?

I got my sun.

Laying in the sun and reading all afternoon makes me very lazy and disconnected from the world.

Now I have to start thinking about real life. Like how messy my house has become and how stressed out it's made me.

I have been trying to rest all day but I can't seem to shut down my brain or something because I just tossed and turned.

NAB, just watch some afternoon TV, that should shut your brain down pretty quickly;)

A Janet Evanovich paperback. She's funny! I do funny NOT dramas. I have no room for drama.

If I wanted to read drama or tragedy, I'd read Lord of the Flies or Catcher In The Rye, my favorites! A lot of good lessons in them. Or anything by Jane Austin.

Now I'm torn!

I planned out a little sumpin' sumpin' involving 3 nights at POP and 3 nights at the Poly. No free dining, I gave us a food budget of $500 which would be all counter service and 1 meal(ohana's), snacks and that plan would involve bringing our own smuckers pb&j's and homemade lunchables for the boys for lunch.

Well I thought about it some and found out the we could stay 6 nights at POR with free dining for LESS money, by about $300.

We like POR a lot, but we LOVE the Poly and we REALLY love having a balcony most of all. Plus the rooms at the Poly are HUGE...but we do love the quiet pools at POR....I haven't mentioned it to Chad. It would be HUGE to have free dining again...but it would mean giving up the Poly(and staying at Pop a few days with some other people ;) ) Also this will hopefully be our last trip before a baby and before Kaleb turns the dreaded age of 3. We will no longer be welcome at ANY disney hotel unless we get two rooms, which isn't gonna happen at the Poly. Ever.

I just don't know what to do!!!!!!! I also LIKE the idea of our whole trip being paid for 45 days before we leave so Chad can't back out again last minute like last time.

What would I do? I need reassurances.

Oh! I forgot!

Twinkie - There are still rooms at POR...are you still trying to talk your DH out of it? You know we wives should submit to our husbands. ;)

Joe you are right about afternoon TV it is sad.

I will just sleep better tonight with out the nap.

Mommy P you are right about husbands. But it is easy to plant the seed in there minds so they think it is there ideal.....:lmao:

It is actually getting warmer out...woohoo. The kids are out playing with out coats. I would be wearing mine if I was out there though. I must be getting old.
