Man, I love those Target end caps! Today the signs said 30%, but upon further inspection I found a lot marked 75% throughout the store. Here are some of my great 75% off finds...

Girls bathing suit $4.74
Ceramic piggy bank (very cute!) $2.48
Area rug $9.98
Cute 4x6 frames $1.24
24" duffel bag $6.24
Off bug spray $1.24
Volleyball net $14.98
Softball bat $14.98
Camping lantern $3.98
Camping sleeping bag $6.18
Swiss army knife $2.64 (marked down from $24!)
Eddie Bauer portable rain jacket $8.98
Earrings $2.48
Summer items--squirt guns, etc. 75% off

Soooo, $100+ later my gift closet is now stocked and I've made a dent in my Christmas shopping!:thumbsup2

Be sure to check every end cap, plus look for little "Clearance" tags in the aisles. There was a lot of 50% off too...DS/Wii games, kids activity books, Dollar Spot, etc. but I'm now I'm too stingy to "only" get stuff for 50% off there!!:rotfl2:

I know what you mean. Sometimes i just walk into Target and walk down the end of the aisles and walk out. I just need to make sure they didn't put anything new in there.

My store has LOTS too. I got:

Coleman UH cooler (was $60, now $15)
LOTS of school supplies for 75%, including 3 jansports backpacks
a camping fan for $10
a kitchenaid skewer set (was 40 now $8)

There weren't good deals on clothes at mine, mostly 30% off stuff.

I shoped at Target today also!:rotfl: My store also has a bunch of School supplies 75% off! I got filler paper for .18, 1 subject notebooks for .03, and blue, black and red ink pen packs for .25! I also found a 5x7 outdoor rug with matching mat for my deck 75% off for $12.48!(which was really nice because we sold our old deck furniture in the spring at our garage sale and have completely re-done our deck). I also got 2 original Snuggies for $7.48 for gifts!

I only walk where there are sale endcaps... my kids don't understand why we never take the main isle...:lmao:
School supplies were on clearance here...I went nuts... I have no idea how I spent 67.00 when notebooks were $ 0.03 :rolleyes1

Bad, Bad OP.

You had me trying to sweet talk my 9 yr old to going shopping after swimming class tonight.:rotfl: She said no she wanted to be home in time for the vampires.

I guess it will have to wait til tomm.;)

I was just at mine last night but may have to return tomorrow to see what I missed! The Dollar Spot showed 30% off but rang up 50% off. I got some of those write & wipe math boards - add, subtract, multiply & divide - large mats w/lots of problems. I also picked up some states & animal flash cards and a math bingo game.

I got some of the pen sale but I didn't see any paper or hit the rest of the clearance. DD would love a snuggie so I might have to wander back over tomorrow.

I worked at Target for about a year and as long as you guys promise not to tell anyone else - I'll share a secret.....

You may know this one already but...

The red clearance stickers have the %off in the upper right hand corner - so you can tell if it's a first time markdown - or if there is a stack of stickers you can see if it has been marked down several times.

So here is what you may not know...

Some Target stores mark down at the END of the week (Friday) Others mark down at the beginning of the week.
Sunday or Monday depending on how busy and what time of year - things are rarely EVER marked down on Sundays during the holidays due to workforce available to maintain inventory.
From what I have experienced personally MOST stores mark down on Monday mornings - and a few stores that I have seen mark down on Saturday evening when all of the sale signs go up and other are changed out.

Target marks down weekly - Walmarts mark down on monthly (if they have a seasonal aisle open to 'flex' into clearance) or quarterly (once again depending on the shelf space available). That's why Wal-Mart will have a sale aisle sometimes - and sometimes NOT.
Sears/Kmart Marks down on a Monthly basis (I also worked for Sears for several years) Often time Sears does NOT have a clearance section for general merchandise, so you literally have to walk the aisles sections that interest you. Anything at Sears that ends in $0.97 is a clearance item and will continue to be marked down until such a point that it reaches the exact or near exact amount of the wholesale price. Not ALWAYS the case - but most of the time. Coming from the guy that once waited a month for a Blue Sony Alarm Clock to drop from $15.97 to $4.97 - I am the ultimate bargain hound! LOL (BTW I got the alarm clock for $1.97 through a coupon and my associate discount at the time!)

One time I also bought a $480.00 Kenmore Progressive Vacuum for $24.97 :scared1:

There are two retail theories on mark downs - here they are:
Theory 1: Mark down on Friday so thing will head through the registers and out the front doors during the time of the week when the MOST people/foot traffic is in the store.
Theory 2: Mark down on Monday to drive more 'bargain hunter' traffic into the store early in the week to boost weekday and morning sales. Then move it into the aisle/endcap for the weekend so what's left will sell.

Once again - these a Budget Board only secrets! HAHA ;)

I miss working retail because of the thrill of the bargain! :lmao:

I thought I was the only one that did this!! I also go to Target and seek out the 'end caps'. Although I had no idea that's what they were called. Sounds like maybe a trip is order this weekend!
Do any of you follow dealbeacon.com? This provides marked down items at Target on a daily basis.

School suplies are 75% off here too. I got DD a Locker bag notebook that was orig. $19.99 for $4.58. The inserts that were orig. $7.00 were $1.75!!!:thumbsup2

I picked up a bunch of 1G flash drives for a dollar something. They aren't huge, but they are fine for the kids who lose them with some frequency.

We have 2 targets in our little town and the one closest to me (in the mall) only had the school supplies at 30%. The free standing store across town has them at 75%, and has alot more product. My guess is they needed to clear it out fast for halloween. :confused3

I love Target clearance shopping. We call it perusing the perimeter.

The first thing I head for when I walk into Target is the electronics endcap ;)
I was there yesterday and didn't find too much on sale so I was good and only got essentials (laundry detergent and papertowls) and a few odds and end gifts.

Be sure to check thru the aisles and look for the red stickers. I was there the Tuesday and my store had wireless mice on clearance for 50+% off. I was looking for toner and stumbled across them. They weren't marked as being on clearance. But several brands had the red stickers on them. GE, Logitech and more. The GE optical mice were on sale for 50% off at $9.99 but I got a $50 Logitech laser mouse for $16.75.:thumbsup2

I thought I got a great deal, but hearing these stories tomorrow after work I'll have to run thru the store before I head home. I need some new rugs.

Those with the 30% signs for school supplies, go scan them. Mine had up 30% for a day after they went 75%.

Oh the piggy banks are on clearance?? I love those, they are super cute! I wanted to get my girls each one but didn't want to pay full price. LOL I want the perimeter too, never know what you might find. :) I think a trip to Target is in my forecast for tomorrow. Thanks OP!

The cute piggy banks are marked down at mine, they are by the furniture and frames in my store. Not sure of the price.

Now how did I not know about Target having a clearance!! Im soo heading there tomorrow to try to get something:cool1:

thank you ! One more reason to head there tonight !
