In reviewing my reservation at the Royal Pacific, I see I accidentally booked a room with a King bed rather than 2 double beds for our stay during the busy Christmas to New Years week.
Now the entire place is booked up so I doubt I'll be able to make a change. Will they let our family of 4 (2 kids) stay in that room and will they give us the Express Passes for all four of us? Should I notify them that there are 4 of us, not 2 or 3? Or should I just show up and plead ignorance if they don't want to allow 4 in the room?

Hi jsptx - welcome to the DIS!

Boy, I'm not sure about that one - how old are your kids and where would they sleep if they do only have the king room. Did you call and see if they have 2 Qs (without giving your situation away)? Maybe check and see if places like Hotelkingdom.com still list any rooms as available for your dates, then you might feel easier about calling and knowing they have rooms available to switch you to. Hope someone else who has run into this can help you further!:scratchin

We won't have a problem with the sleeping arrangements even if we only have the king bed. My bigger concern is that they'll say 4 people can't stay in the room and that we won't get 4 Express Passes. Do we need an Express Pass for each guest or can we get by with 2-3 passes for 4 people if we stay together?

I don't see why they wouldn't let four people stay in the room. They let five people stay in the rooms with two beds, so what's the difference?? I would call again and see if you could get a room with two beds just for your convenience and comfort.

I can tell you for certain it will be no problem. We went with a family of 4 this past July and had booked 2 queens, when we got there, we were informed the queens were overbooked, and all that was available was a king room with pull out sofa bed. It worked fine- all 4 of us got express passes and there was no problem! I think technically, they let up to 5 stay in a room no matter which kind it is (at least that is what they told me when I checked in). Have fun

Thanks for all the advice. I appreciate and welcome any other feedback that is out there! Can't wait to experience Universal Florida. We've been to Universal California and the Disney parks numerous times. This will be our first to Universal's Florida parks.

when i go my family stays in the rp and even if u keep your situation a secret to them it won't matter. i have family in florida and when we go down, they come to the parks with us. even though they do not have express passes they are still let on the ride with us. you just have to ask. plus if its a child it shouldn't be a problem. plus depending on who you talk to in the hotel, sometimes they make up an extra key if you ask them to. it depends on the niceness of the person you talk to.

Same thing happened to us when the resort first opened up. We are a family of 5 and all 5 of us had gone & ended up in the King room. My younger one slept with me & my husband & the other 2 (ages then: 15 & 13) slept on the pull out sofa. It actually worked out to our benifit to have the king size bed for the younger to sleep in with us.
