Looking at a June 2011 trip with DD10 who will have just turned 10 in May. If I'm paying OOP and I KNOW my DD will not eat from the adult menu, will I have to pay the adult or child's price?

I know that you can order children's meals at CS regardless of whether paying OOP or using a dining plan. If you eat at a buffet a 10 year-old will have to pay the adult price regardless of the amount of food actually eaten. I'm not sure about other TS restaurants. I think most would allow a 10 year-old to order from the child's menu if requested. I do know that if you wish to purchase a dining plan she would be required to have an adult plan.

Adult Sorry. Have you seen if your dates are in the new free dining promotion?

No the dates I'm looking are not included in FD.

I'm thinking of doing QSDP and paying for a couple TS meals OOP. However, how are they going to know how old she is? We've still never been to DW so I'm not sure how it all works.

Your KTTW card (your room key, park tickets & dining plan info all in one) which you would show when using your dining plan for the QS meals shows her age because she will also have an adult park ticket. Since the card does not need to be shown when you are paying OOP for TS there is no way they would know her age. I'm guessing she is small for her age if her appetite is small. But let me tell you about our granddaughter's growth spirt during ages 10 & 11...

I wouldn't exactly call her small...she is about 62ish pounds and 4'5". However, if she orders off the kids menu (and I'm paying OOP) won't they charge the kid's menu price?

The thing that started me thinking about this is I'm looking at doing the Hoop Dee Doo Revue and there is no way I'm paying over $60 for a kid to eat a kid's size portion of food. KWIM?

We have never had an issue ordering for our kids from the children's menu regardless of age. I usually just ask the server ahead of time if it would be possilbe for my DD to order from the children's menu. We have never had a server say no although I am sure some others have had different experiences. We are always paying OOP so no DDP issues with this. HTH

Edited to add that you must pay adult/junior prices at all buffets, shows, etc. This only applies for a la carte at TS restaurants and ordering from the kids section at CS.

That is a difficult one as the Hoop Dee Doo Revue is a family style, all you care to eat, and there will probably be LOTS of other 10 year-olds there all paying the adult price. This is why Disney has to set some guidelines even though you may feel that for your child you would be paying way too much money for value.
