Oooh should I book?

Just thought i'd try and work out a breakdown of the costs as I think this company as charging over the odds for the Travelodge (most of the UK TAs do seem to charge more for accomodation since they do it per person rather than per room) Say £400pp for flights that is £1200 then that leaves about £750 for the accomodation which is £50 a night, quite a markup on the Travelodge's own rates and those on most of the consolidator websites. Hotels.com has it for £27 a night as does Expedia.
I can see the attraction of booking early to have the deposit option but personally I think you can get a better deal for that hotel :) Happy planning whatever you decide to do!

It seems like alot of money for a basic Travelodge.Agree with Lizzy-that's a hell'uva mark up.For that price you could get a much better hotel.Good luck with your findings, let us know how you get on.x.

I was trying to do a DIY holiday, but they all worked out at well over 2k. I can't find flights anywhere for us all at less than £500 each.

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places!

If I didn't think the prices were going to sy rocket by this time next year I woudl wait to book and get a late deal, but I think if I wait I won't be able to afford it, plus I wouldn't be able to book ADR's and that either.

If anyone knows where I can book and get a cheaper price that'll be fantastic lol.

The £1911 for 2 weeks in POP is good though right? That was the one I was going to go for.

Hi
I booked this year with Direct Holidays and got a great deal (Direct Holidays is part of thomas Cook Group) I did the same as your thinking of doing and paid a small deposit, then the remaining balance later and so far I have not had a bit of bother (i received our tickets about 3 weeks ago) and it turned out I DID get a great deal because the same holiday is now twice the price of what I paid for it in January. Just 10 days to go for us :woohoo: I'll let you know how they were when I get back! Go on go for it! LOL

PS If you think you are getting a duff deal on the travel lodge you always have the option of booking fly drive through Direct Holidays and then booking your own accommodation (that's what we've done!)

I feel a right fool now! lol After all the searching I've done in the last few months, I didn't even think about a fly drive where I found the best deal! lol It must be about the only site I've not searched for fly drive.

POP century is priced at around £784 isn't it, on the Disney site? (can I book it anywhere else cheaper?) So anything less than aroun £1100 will be a better deal. Just off to check.

Personally the price for POP seems fair to me.
I know you could get it abit cheaper though if you shop around...if you D..I..Y and do fly drive prices you might get it a little cheaper.:confused3
I'd basically go for the Pop price rather than Idrive but thats me personally.
I'm sure you'll find the right deal for you :thumbsup2

Well, so far I've been quoted £1495 3 times and £1863 from directholidays for just a fly drive. If I want POP too it'll cost nearly £2300, so looks like the package one has won this time! lol

Hopefully I'll be booked Friday. Fingers crossed it hasn't sold out by then. :(

I can't believe you have to pay the same price for your little ones as your adult price. I know its been a few years since Bex was young but what happened to chil prices or free child places. Good luck with your search :thumbsup2

I know, the only one I've found that does child places is Virgin, but as I'm the only adult, one of them has to pay an adult price too and Virgin aren't exactly the cheapest anyway. Everywhere else seems to have the same price for adults and children.

Virgin do have a couple of hotels were they offer a single parent discount - have you looked at these?

Yeah, but for some reason it doesn't work out much cheaper, if at all, there are only about 4 so not much choice and all very basic. I've got my heart set on POP now! lol

The cheapest package I found with Virgin was around £2300 in a basic hotel, or £1880 something for a fly drive. It seems the most pricey one to me.

One thing about the Travel Lodge one - check where the location is as if it's the one Im thinking of it's right down the bottom end and round the corner ....... no right in the middle of it all - personally, I wouldn't want to stay that far off I-Drive and I know someone that was there and got moved after a nights stay as she just didn't feel safe because it's very quiet.

Hope you get sorted - POP sound good!!

M
xx

Yep, think I'm definitely going for POP, as long as it's not gone by the time I can book! There are others though, a lot of All star music available, if it does go, at around the same price.

What's that like? Anyone been there before? POP is my first choice, but ASM looks pretty good too.

We walked the music from Movies, and thought Music looked good.
I'd stay there I didnt like the sports resort but thats cause I dont like sports much :rotfl:
I saw at the Music resort they held games/etc at the pool certain times of the day ideal for children, the resort was clean, bright, funky.
We walked down to have a toot inside its basically the same as Movies, just different theming.

Virgin is quite pricey unless you can get the 10% d/count and then its more appealing.:)
You'll get something sorted, there are soo many deals to be had out there.Just dont rush book..:thumbsup2 Book when your ready and its what you want.

I can't rush, my money still hasn't come through yet! lol I know what I'm like, I would have booked by now if I could.

Now I've been forced to wait and continute looking around, I'm finding good deals. I wasn't sure I could afford POP but now I know I definitely can, if it's available, I'll be staying there. If not, then ASM.

Just knowing that I can book soon makes me feel good, so although it looks like I'll be going for POP at £1911, I'll still have a look around till then. You never know, I could get a bargain! I might go to a few travel agents and see if they can match it, or give me the same holiday cheaper. Could get quite a bit knocked off if a few can do that!

More $$$ for shopping then! lol
