I've been looking around for a long time now, and am itching to book!

Can you tell me if this is a good deal?

1 adult and 2 children
2 weeks on I drive
compact car for 2 weeks
direct flights from Man to San and accomodation from 6th October 09 - 20th October 09.
Good times, arriving in Orlando at 3pm, not leaving till 5pm on last day
£1952

Just a £93 deposit. It's with directholidays if that makes any difference.

Has anyone had any problems or surprises with direct holidays? Would you book if you were me? I'm dying to, but wanted to check in case there's something I should know?

Thanks!

I have'nt heard of them, just make sure they are fully ABTA bonded.x.
What hotel?.x.

They're part of mytravel I think. Same website comes up whichever one I type in the address bar.

How do I find that out? T+C?

I just had a look, they are ABTA bonded,it states on the home page. What hotel on I-Drive?.x.

Is it directholidays.co.uk? If so, you are good:

we have used direct holidays before.never had a problem.they are definately part of my travel.we have usually been on my travel planes.the last time to egypt,we were on one of the planes, with the toilets downstairs.also been to turkey with them.
i always check their prices,as i would definately use them.
i would say,get it booked & let the planning begin:)

As long as the travel agents are ABTA bonded and the hotel looks ok then it seems a pretty good deal.
It's only going to get a lot more expensive next year.

My Auntie has just booked flights for her and my Uncle for April 09 and it has cost them £1500, plus with the forecasts of the dollar dropping to $1.60 to the pound by March, I'd say the sooner you can get out there the better.

Just my opinion.

Any parks tickets included?

Yep that's the one!

It's just a travelodge, but my budget just got a little tighter so not too fussy now. Will do POP the next time. :D

So, does it sound good?

Just something to keep in mind: Does the total include car insurance? Also i'm not sure if you'll be 25 when you travel but if not there is a young driver surcharge for under 25s which usually isn't included in the normal insurance rate, it's about $20 + tax a day extra. If this is the case it may be worthwhile booking stuff separately as usrentacar.com do car hire with the surcharge included :)
ETA: I think by booking separately you can get a really cheap price for the Travelodge.. I just checked their website and got a rate of $41 for one night, even plus tax that's pretty good.

No nothing else included. Have just been reading the T+C though and it says the full amount needs to be paid within 8 weeks of leaving, but if you took advantage of a low deposit offer, it needs to be paid 8 weeks after booking.

I didn't see any 'offer' of a low deposit, I just searched and that's what it came up as. I know the deposit is low, so am worried I'll have to pay the whole amount in 8 weeks?

Does anyone know if this is their normal deposit amount or if this is a low one? It doesn't say anything about a low deposit.

No it doesn't include insurance, but I was planning on not bothering with that car. If I find one, like on the site you mentioned, then I will, but if not I'll be on I drive with shuttle buses to all parks so not too fussed about a car really.

hi we have used direct holidays for lots of our holidays, previous posters are right about them merging the three companies that merged were direct holidays, my travel and thomas cook, we also paid the low deposit on one of our holidays once, when it says it has to be paid in 8 weeks it means the remainder of your deposit :thumbsup2

i think it will mean that,if it is a low deposit, then the remainder of the deposit, will have to be paid 8 weeks after booking, not the whole holiday 8 weeks after booking.
sorry if this is what you meant.you will need to find out, what the regular deposit is,to find out, what you will have to pay in 8 weeks time.
is the deposit £93 each,or for the 3 of you? if it is for the 3 of you,it will be a low deposit.

the normal deposit is £120,so you would be looking to pay,£270 in 8 weeks time.

Yeah it's for the three of us. I'll have to give them a call and find out exactly what I'd need to pay.

Although, like buses, you find nothing for ages, then 2 pop up! Literally. A pop up just came up for holidays, so I did a search and came with something similar, but staying at POP! £1911. Not finished the process though so not sure of the total.

The deposit for that is £300 so will have to wait till friday to book if it's still available!

We booked with Direct Holidays for our first trip to WDW last August. We flew with My Travel - had no issues. (We have also used them twice before to Ibiza - again, no probs).

This year we opted for the DIY option buying everything seperately - plan to do DIY again for Aug 2009 :)

Sounds good to me..get it booked :thumbsup2
BTW directholidays are fine, our family members have been with them to Mexico, and Canaries etc.:thumbsup2

I'm going to spend a hectic few hours now and tomorrow searching to make sure I've got the best deal I can find, and hopefully be booked tomorrow! Friday! lol

Ooh yay!!!!!

I feel like a proper grown up now lol. First time booking, let alone planning an entire holiday on my own. Very scary. Hope I don't mess it up. :S
