Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween 2023 Super Thread

Hmmmm.... It's hard to say if I could recommend a full half day in Downtown Disney right now due to how much is under construction. That's not to say that there isn't a lot to do right now there, but it's a bit less than usual and Downtown Disney is a much smaller thing vs Disney Springs at WDW. There is plenty of retail therapy and eats to try. If you aren't staying at or have visited the Grand Cal, you should also take a detour to check out the lobby and other things there. We actually love eating at the GCH Craftsman quick service even if we aren't staying at the Grand Cal when we have time. Breakfast with characters at Storytellers Cafe is a great option if you don't have a park ticket but want an awesome experience.

If you are a hotel/resort fan like us, you might also consider doing a tour of the new Disneyland Tower DVC property while you are visiting to kill some time (if you are visiting after it opens). We love DVC tours and as long as you don't mind asking, you and the family could walk away with a fair amount of free stuff. Word of caution... DVC can be an expensive hobby :)
Thank you! You just solved my dilemma. We are also huge resort fans so we’ll use that time before the party to explore.

I know none of us have crystal balls, but when do we think tickets will go on sale again? Is it possible it will be this Thursday or will they delay it? I am kind of hoping they just do it Thursday to put us all out of our misery, but I a;so need to take the day off to be able to try, so I need lots more notice. So incredibly frustrating, fingers crossed amd pixie dust those of us still waiting can get tickets.

I suspect they will announce a future on sale date on Thursday, not start ticket sales on Thursday. I say that due to this phrase on the official OBB site: “We commit to providing advance notice prior to activating new sales and strive to make the process as smooth as possible. ”

Pixie dust to all, indeed!!!

Well...I was initially bummed to be out of the country on 6/29 when tickets went on sale but, I see all I missed was a lot of stress and aggravation! Oyyy. What a mess! Will certainly try to get tickets during the next on sale date and hope they have a better system in place.

Why not wait until Disney updates what’s going on and puts the tickets back on sale…if they didn’t sell them out already
Because I'm from Australia, I have to plan things well in advance. I can't go to the parks on a whim. I assumed I would get tickets for my dates based on getting to the que on time and waiting - well that didn't happen.
I am having my kids costumes made, I can't wait until the last second to have this done and have them arrive before we leave for our trip.
I feel for those with the severe time differences and commitments that keep them from being able to sit in a long queue. It's rough to say the least.

It used to be a lot easier to share queues, but Disney keeps removing features from Queue It when used for DLR related things. I have to go digging in the source code now to get the pre-link and the Queue ID to add to the end of the link.

They've never told us we can't share. But they sure do make it difficult to share 😂

I hate we still have a couple more days of twiddling our thumbs waiting for an update. I know so many need to get their plans set and we don't even know if we'll get an updated sale date on the next scheduled update day.
It was rough getting up at 2am and being in limbo for so long, wish they would schedule these things for weekends instead of work days (yes I know people work weekends too, I used to be one of them)

Yeah, can't cover everyone for sure. Always going to be someone inconvenienced. I'm not thrilled with getting up early since I work very late in the day, but it usually fits my schedule with only some loss of sleep. And if I'm lucky I get through quick enough and my extra queues all shared out so I can catch a quick power nap if I need it.

When the Touch of Disney tickets went on sale back in 2021, they didn't give us an estimated time. Just a date. I along with several others were checking the website every hour starting at midnight PT. I didn't sleep more than in short naps between hourly checks. So at least they give us "will not start before X time" now I guess 😂

I really hope we get a date/time tomorrow 🥺

That’s ridiculous. At least give a time frame

I was in the country on 6/29 but wasn’t able to get tickets. Now I’m out of the country and am worried they’ll go on sale while I’m here. I guess the good news is that 6am PT is 3pm here so maybe I’ll just plan to be the one to take our toddler back to the house for nap time the day tickets go on sale. We really, really want to go to OBB this year but I’m here visiting my family for the first time post-COViD so I am not going to spend all day trying to get tickets like I did 6/29. It’s so frustrating that Disney just can’t get ticket sales right!

They do now after the disaster that was Touch of Disney tickets sales. Although because the start can be delayed, they always say "not before X time" rather than "at X time". Disney learned a valuable lesson that day when we broke the site more than once before ticket sales opened up.

Hopefully we'll know a date and time tomorrow, but be sure what time it'll be since so far the start times for ticket sales have been 9am PT, not 6am PT. It was 9am for both the MK presale and the botched general sale. And the update is coming at 9am as well.

Also hopefully they give at least 24 hours notice before starting sales again. More would be ideal so people can prep, though.

I'm terrified of them doing them while I'm driving down to SoCal in a couple weeks 😂

With any luck they will say they are going on sale this Friday which is Saturday AEST right? Wish you and everyone else who is trying to buy after all of this madness good luck :)

I am 99.99 percent sure that the site originally said 6 AM PT as some posters have stated too, but right now it says 9 AM.

Just wanted to post that because I believe in the 9 AM theory brought up.

My photo from that day right after I got the updated screen says 9am. Can't speak to what others saw, but my screen always said 9am for the update.

ETA: time stamp says 4:15pm PT 6/29/2023 when I took this.

ETA2: is it possible people just were seeing July 6 and were transposing the 6 from the date to the time?

ETA3:
Went back through the thread. This was posted shortly after the queue closed and person copy and pasted the language from the closed queue into the post. It also says 9am PT.

It is possible. Several people mentioned the 6 AM bit, so I thought there must have been a change. Usually I am the one who misreads. lol

Yeah, from the receipts (both my own and in thread) it's always been 9am PT. It really does make the most sense that a few very tired brains saw the 6 for the date and went "yeah, sounds good; 9... 6... same thing". Tired brains are weird 😂

I actually didn't see anyone say 6am until this page of the thread, but I could have missed a comment or several. I've only seen people say 9am or mostly just the date.

That's the one that caught my eye. Sometimes I notice the most hidden remarks. :rotfl2:

I was talking to some friends about the Oogie Boogie situation. They are all in IT. They said there are probably so many people on vacation the next couple of weeks that's why they are probably having trouble coming up with a solution. That does make sense.

Had completely forgotten about this but you just brought back memories for me of setting alarms every 15 minutes so I wouldn't fall asleep all night long. Jesus what a miserable day.

Per the website: "As part of our commitment to share an update on Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party ticket sales, we want you to know that new sales will resume on July 11 no earlier than 9:00 AM, Pacific Time. We sincerely apologize for the technical issues we experienced last week that may have impacted your ability to purchase tickets."

What a mess....
