Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween 2023 Super Thread

I know we would, and frankly I have, but NBC is our very favorite movie. We had a full NBC themed wedding. Our house is decorated in early Nightmare Before Christmas. To be there when the party was going on and know we can't participate would just make me sad and Franky a little angry about how this is going down. If it was just a generic Halloween party I wouldn't feel this way. But to be there and not get to see Oogie and the special parade and the villains grove after all, especially after cancelling the last trip I had tickets, would just be too frustrating for me. I would rather go to WDW, but at this point that is too late to plan for this year so we will just cancel and hope we can go for our 26th anniversary.
Other than Oogie Boogie in one treat trail which he's up on a stage behind a barrier and Jack and Sally in the parade, there is not really any NBC theming for the party. There is still the NBC overlay on Haunted Mansion over at Disneyland and Jack and Sally meet and greet usually this time of year through the Christmas season.
I'm also probably in the minority here when i say Villian's Grove was meh. It's pretty, but it's just lights and projections that you walk through. It wasn't even a treat trail nor a trail with villains in it. At least the last time I went that's how it was.

Do you happen to be staying onsite? I have been following your plans on the other threads, but I can't recall. If so, we were able to get day-of OBB tickets by staying at the DLH in 2021 when we had a last minute change of plans from WDW to DLR (and of course all tickets had been sold out for months). I know that is not at all ideal since it creates a lot of uncertainty (we fly in from Texas, so I had to decide that I was ok without going to OBB if we didn't get the day-of tickets from the DLH, which may not be an uncertainty you would be comfortable with since it sounds like you are also flying in).

I am heartbroken for you since I know how much you love NBC and want to attend the party for your anniversary. I very much hope tomorrow is a better day, and that Disney IT fixes this!!!
Thank you, no on-site is way out of our budget. Seriously thought about switching with the discount offered today but it just doesn’t math out for us. Although I would totally loiter in the lobby all night to try if we could.
Not abandoning all hope yet, but getting close.

Can you set up your payment on the app and have someone log on tomorrow for you?

I know, but there are treats and OOGIE BOOGIE. Literally the only way to see him. I domt expect anyone else to feel the way I do, but to me this is the reason I wanted to go so bad. Special treats, Halloween parade and OB himself.

I'm just flabbergasted that things went so horribly wrong. We were supposed to be heading out on a flight this evening (so like leaving for the airport right now) but even that had to be cancelled because of severe weather here and at our destination. No way did I expect to still be sitting here without tickets, so it's a good thing our flight was cancelled.

At least I was able to add the fall discount that just came out to our reservation. Now I just need OBB tickets....

I am sorry for being so whiny. I know I am being a brat, I am just so disappointed.
You're not being whiny or a brat, this was a complete crap show and I'm feeling the same way.

There is no reason that that it needed to be this way, I don't know why they couldn't have just blocked the site when they identified an issue 10 minutes into sales to figure it out instead of making people sit here and allowing some to get on the site and a majority of others not. It's just so frustrating.

Side note... What is Halloween like in Australia, similar, or very different, or same same.?
No where near what it is like in the US, we have a few kids go around - mine included but most houses etc aren't dressed up. People may put one spider on their house etc and that's it.

It is slowly getting bigger but I don't think it will ever be like it is in the USA. Which is why my kids really want to go.

Do we know if any dates are sold out? Still in the queue after 7 hrs.

Allegedly all the dates are still available. I think if it was a significant amount of people that were bypassing the queue at least one date would have already sold out. I think this gives a bit of hope that maybe the people who haven't been able to get in yet will still have a fair shot.

From one NMBC mega fan to another, I hear you. I was pitching a fit all by myself before I finally got in. I kind of thought when I got in it meant it was fixed, but alas that was not the case. I wish I could take you with me, and very much hope you get your dates and get to see Oogie in person!

You'd think they'd at least give us an update. I mean something must have changed since 11.32a. Like they've isolated the issue and it will come back online in XXX. Or, we're terribly sorry for this inconvenience, but we still don't know when ticket sales will resume.
I kind of wonder if stuff like this is code for "We got on the phone with our outside vendor and told them the system is having issues"
