Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween 2023 Super Thread

This is just crazy. It didn't used to be like this. I wonder what has changed in the last few years. I know last year it sold out in like 48 hours, but the year before that there were still tickets a month later. The last time I went and bought tickets was in 2019 and not even all parties sold out. I ended up going to two parties that year and one on a week day was not sold out and when me and my friends all bought our tickets it was a week or more after they went on sale. I also don't remember it ever being like this when it was still in Disneyland for Mickey's Not So Scary Party.
Is it really just that people are still "revenge vacationing?" I also saw people somewhere else blaming Disney influencers because they share so many tips and tricks.
I’m so curious about this too! I have been going since maybe 2016 and usually wait for midsummer to buy my tickets when it’s closer to Halloween and I know what my fall plans will be. I have never bought them on opening day of ticket sales and had no idea they’d sell out so quick last year. I hadn’t even decided which day I wanted to go before they were sold out.

FWIW I think you would still enjoy all the other halloween decorations if you went on your trip.
I know we would, and frankly I have, but NBC is our very favorite movie. We had a full NBC themed wedding. Our house is decorated in early Nightmare Before Christmas. To be there when the party was going on and know we can't participate would just make me sad and Franky a little angry about how this is going down. If it was just a generic Halloween party I wouldn't feel this way. But to be there and not get to see Oogie and the special parade and the villains grove after all, especially after cancelling the last trip I had tickets, would just be too frustrating for me. I would rather go to WDW, but at this point that is too late to plan for this year so we will just cancel and hope we can go for our 26th anniversary.

I am not sure if they are selling less tickets since covid or if more people are trying to go now. I know halloween time now is as popular as Christmas.

It's probably not even going to be sold out today, It's probably just Disney creating hype, lol

For me my risk is much lower as I live in California, have a magic key and have been multiple years in a row.
So I'm actually okay with not getting in and have been dealing with severe mental health issues last few months including going through intensive therapy and it's interesting now I'm of the mindset , "You know if it's this hard for Disney to take my money, I'm okay with doing something else. It's not life or death, it's not the end of all Disney things for me and I'll be okay" , where last year I would be flipping tables and impossible to live with.
For me. I'm going to be okay.

That said I've been plating a new video game so have literally nothing to hurt by keeping my phone open, but more time that passes the more I think something new this year will be better for ME. Wishing everyone the best especially those that have pre booked trips.
I'm trying to keep reminding myself to look at the bright side and not totally stress myself out. I'll still get to enjoy the holiday decor and will still have fun because it's Disney. Also trying to remind myself I know this is not the last time I'll ever go to Disneyland. I don't have a magic key, but do live in NorCal and try to go about once a year (usually always during Halloween).

We are going for our 10 year anniversary and its our first time taking the kids. My son is autistic and knows about the party and really wants to go, so not sure if he will be very upset if we don't get tickets. I wish tickets weren't so hard to get in recent years. I think they sold out in like 2 days last year? I know previously you could buy them into the summer.

You'd think they'd at least give us an update. I mean something must have changed since 11.32a. Like they've isolated the issue and it will come back online in XXX. Or, we're terribly sorry for this inconvenience, but we still don't know when ticket sales will resume.

I waited for more than six hours on Tuesday and got nothing.

Yeppppp. I tried for the full 8 hours on Tuesday. Would either get through the queue and then the page would refresh and not let me in. And then when I finally started getting in, all the dates were sold. And I kept trying and trying and nothing.

8 hours on Tuesday. Probably gonna be 8 hours today. Absolutely ridiculous.

Went to bed after working all night and wow up with the tickets in my app. What happened to the site. Still paused?

Do you happen to be staying onsite? I have been following your plans on the other threads, but I can't recall. If so, we were able to get day-of OBB tickets by staying at the DLH in 2021 when we had a last minute change of plans from WDW to DLR (and of course all tickets had been sold out for months). I know that is not at all ideal since it creates a lot of uncertainty (we fly in from Texas, so I had to decide that I was ok without going to OBB if we didn't get the day-of tickets from the DLH, which may not be an uncertainty you would be comfortable with since it sounds like you are also flying in).

I am heartbroken for you since I know how much you love NBC and want to attend the party for your anniversary. I very much hope tomorrow is a better day, and that Disney IT fixes this!!!
