I am a trasplant... lol.... i am native born mississippian. however my dad is a native of tennessee. It is ok here... where in TN is he wanting to move?

he's mentioned cookeville but only because i have a cousin there who has sent us some info. on the area (seems a bit too congested for my taste). we want some smaller less developed area that offers decent public and private schools, idealy some community theatre, some colleges or universities within reasonable driving distance.

the idea is to fina a place with some nice acreage-we envision (get this) our kids running across a field followed by a small herd of puppies and kittens (kid's envisioning ) and a few ducks (my envisioning),

dh works in computers so he's pretty marketable whereever we land, and hopefully the equity we see could give us the option of buying out right or buying with a small mortgage and banking the rest.

i'de like to find an area where you get a light amount of snow each year (it would help me deal with humidity i'de face the rest of the time)

any suggestions?

Where we live is a small town and is within from 30 min to 2 hrs from large cities. We have good public schools. This area is low income so land and homes are very reasonable priced. JObs are few here but like i said you can drive to a surrounding town and find one. Florence, AL is 45 min away and has a university, as well as we have a community college close by. Memphis is 3 hrs, Nashville is 1 hr 45 min, if you would like info on my town or county i would be more than glad to PM you some more info!

Hi Steph

I didn't read your whole thread

what inspection

are you getting more kids??

I need to go to sleep and can't.

We have to be at AK for Donald's breakfastasarus at 8:30. We have to leave around 7:30, but I have to get up and ready, the animals taken care of (2 dogs, 3 cats), get DD up and dressed and out of the house.

At this point I think I will just go put on a pot of coffee :coffee:and do some much needed straightening up in the house. (Too much dising!) :disrocks: I'm almost afraid to go to sleep that I won't want to get up!

My DD is sleeping in my bed, as I needed to use the computer in the guest room (she does not like to sleep in her room - I think the cats are in there tonight/this morning????). One of the dogs is sleeping on the bed in the guest room (and snoring loudly) and the other is sleeping next to the bed on the floor!

Yes -going to make a pot of coffee! I'll make it a disboard all nighter. I did Iron on transfers on 3 T-shirts for our day tomorrow - (from the Disney Design board), so I know what close we are wearing. I should make sure I have myt "bag" stocked with camera supplies, autograph book, etc. etc. etc. I guess it's going to be "mommy" that is cranky at the park tomorrow!
:coffee:

Look on the bright side, I'm waking up in 40-degree South Jersey and thinking that's OK as long as the wind isn't blowing.

Believe me I don't miss winter, and cold windy days.... I lived 25 mi NW of Philly most of my life. It's kinda chilly here tonight though only 49- thinking I need to go put on the heat! It's supposed to be 50 around 9am and only get to 63 tomorrow. Good day for the animals to be out at AK!

Hello Insomnicacs

Just watched a couple of Lost Season 1 DVDS and should be in bed, but I just had to come DIS for a minute or two.

Stephanie, what part of MS were you from? We went white water rafting in Ocoee, TN a few years back and just loved it. TN is very pretty.

Hi, everyone! :wave2:

I'm actually very tired, but I don't feel like going to bed just yet. Go figure. DBF just went home and dd is at her father's house. I feel so lonely.
