I expect this will be the case. Maiden voyage Wish with DH, then DVC charter next with two friends.

Will DCL work with me somehow. I had asked before when I thought DH WOULD BE WITH ME ON SECOND CRUISE. Now he would prefer to just be on one.

Thanks.

It shouldn't be a problem at all. DH and I did B2B Bahamian cruises and our adult children joined us only for the 2nd cruise. On another of our B2B cruises, a divorced mother and her 2 children (elementary ages) were on the first one and then the father arrived at the end of that cruise to switch places with the mother and cruise with their children on the second one. The father was able to board early with his children and all the rest of us B2B cruisers since his kids were doing the B2B.

Thank you for giving your information! :thumbsup2

The challenge will be it may be next to impossible to book the same room on both cruises since they have different booking dates. But if you don't mind moving rooms it shouldn't be an issue.

DCL will happily take your money, or in this case your points.

In what way are you wanting DCL to work with you ?

They two reservations of a B2B are two separate reservations. Although they have a way of 'linking' them together in their system, they remain separate reservations. So having one person on both and then different additional people [or lack of an additional person] is not a problem.

Do note though that one person in a stateroom pays the same as two people, less the taxes and port fees.

I think the issue is Persons A and B are on cruise 1 and Persons A, C, & D are on cruise 2. So only Person A is doing B2B. (so there is never one person per stateroom but the first post is slightly confusing!)

You got it. I am person A. I am sorry for confusing someone.

From DCL's POV it isn't an issue because they are two discrete separate reservations.

You can/should have a note added to each reservation to note that Person A is doing the two consecutive cruises.

When cruise one ends, your stateroom account etc is fully closed out, you disembark, etc. There is no carryover from one cruise to the next.

When we have done our B2B we have even had to wait a while in the terminal until they could check us in for the next cruise because the computers had not yet closed out the previous cruise.

Once the computers are ready for the next cruise, they will let you check in for it. It will be like signing in for a new cruise EXCEPT that usually they let the B2Bers wait in the concierge lounge in the terminal and get back onto the ship before all the other guests.
