Hi - My husband and I haven't been to Disney World for five years. At that time we stayed in the park for a week and did a lot. We will be in the area in January and have one day to spend. I wonder what might be new since 5 years ago for us to discover? We don't want to run from place to place, but don't mind a little of that! Any suggestions that two 55 year olds would love? Thanks, sue

The Official Disney site has a link that allows you to look up "what's new" since the last time you were there, try this:http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/experience/whatsNew?id=WhatsNewExpListingPage As far as your age goes, that really is not a factor, it's going to be about personal preference. There are many threads on here about 70 and 80 something year olds going on the wildest rides. But since it's been 5 years you may just want to redo what you've enjoyed before and just happen upon the new things! :flower:

Mt soster and her daughters were going for just one day and I thought Epcot would be her best choice and they loved it. It is so nice to stroll around the countries and you have a few thrill rides to keep your heart pumping. This would be my pick if I had to choose one park for a day!

Several things to consider here.

I would say, ask yourself do we want rides or relaxtion. If I only had one day to spend at WDW with my wife, I would most certainly go to Epcot. Although I love riding rides, I would rather spend a good day at a park with fewer "thrill" rides and take in the "after hours" setting that is created at Epcot World showcase.

As a matter of fact, on our upcoming trip to WDW in December, I have already explained to the kids (17, 13, 9) that Mom and Dad will be taking an entire day at Epcot by ourselfs and that we will see them back at the hotel. Normaly we wouldn't do this, but our children have been to WDW many times and we all have cell phones. Our oldest is a very responsible young lady and the other two are well behaved and know what is expected of them when they are out in public.

Good luck and have fun on your day.

not sure when ak opened but i would go there if it's new to you..epcot is pretty much the same except soaring and ms ( think tt opened before then) mk new things would be Phiharmagic( great!) and stich( haven't been) and wishes/spectromagic( great also). if i had one day i'd go to ak for the day and then epcot or mk ( if wishes and spectro were playing only) in the evening but that is because we loved ak and most other stuff is pretty much the same

If you can choose just 1 park, Epcot may be your best pick. If you can do 2 parks, try AK in the morn, then right before lunch, scoot over to Epcot and stay for closing.
