We are going on our first Disney Cruise, and have with our schedule will be able to fit in just one day after it to hit a park at WDW. We have a 4 yr old girl, and I was hoping for input on what we must/can do in one day? She has been to DL before (which she loved) and Sea World in San Diego. I was wondering if we should just skip the park and do Animal Kingdom? Just WDW? Please help!! thanks for any suggestions.

Magic Kingdom! If you have never been to WDW, this would be the best park for a 4-year old. She will be able to do many of the rides, see the parade, see the princesses. AK is a great park, but if I were choosing just one for a 4-year old, it would have to be MK!

You should be able to get off the ship by about 7:30 or 8, which can put you at MK for opening, depending on park hours for your time of year. If your daughter has a favorite character, you might think about getting an ADR for a charcter lunch - Magic Kingdom has Crystal Palace with the Pooh characters and Cindy's castle for lunch. Liberty Tree Tavern has Goofy and friends for dinner - I am probably forgetting some!

I completely agree with seeing Magic Kingdom. All parks are wonderful, but in my opinion, I see the MK as the "main" park...I suppose it has something to do with the iconic castle! Lots of opportunities to see many of the characters, including princesses, which I know is a HUGE deal for my DD5 princess:

MAGIC KINGDOM! be sure 2 spend plenty of time in fantasyland, that's a must see 4 evry1, but especially younger kids!

Magic Kingdom....you'll see tons of characters on ship, so don't focus on those.

AK is a wonderful concept, but there are really only a few things the younger children enjoy. And if you have a zoo, the only things that are way different are the safari and the Lion King show.

Magic Kingdom on the other hand has at least 15 attractions that preschoolers love. Don't hesitate...just go to MK! BUT try to be there at park opening and start in Fantasyland.

Enjoy your cruise....my favorite of the Disney vacations.

Agree on Magic Kingdom. For a 4 year old, the Magic Kingdom IS Disney World.

I'm wondering if we could fit in the Pirates & Princess Party. I'm not sure about this one, as she absolutely loves Disney Princesses, but is afraid of the Pirates. We went on POTC in DL this past summer, and it was too much for her - still talks about how she doesn't want to go on that ride again. Is the Party scary at all?

I agree with AngieWin, at that age, MK IS Disney!

But you mentioned she'd been to DL. - Does that mean you live extremely close and go a lot?? IF (only if) that's the case, I would use my day to see Epcot. Otherwise, MK is the most important!

We live in the midwest, but our best friends live very near DL, so we try to visit them (and the mouse) when we can. Lately it has been every other year, but probably not again now until 2009.
