My family consists of me, I'm 16 :)
My mom and dad, sister, 14 and brother, 12

Brother is an extremely picky eater. eats like pasta, pizza, and chicken fingers.

Me and my sister are seriously up for anything, kind of health nuts :)

Basically, it's our first time ever going to disney, and I've been memorizing guidebooks, rides, and hotels since 5th grade, full-on OBSESSED with Disney. I love researching and coming to this board everyday!

Anywho, we have 4 TS meals on the dining plan, and probably should reserve before we leave... right? My family is clueless. I'd like to hear your suggestions, what are the 4 must go to restuarants

Everyone seems to like
- Ohhana's
- Kona/Boma [so confusing]
- Whispering Canyon Cafe
- Liberty Tree Tavern?

PLEASE HELP!
should we reserve early? and where!

As far as restaurants, take a look at the menus to see what you think will work best for your family. Reservations are pretty much required these days and they can be made 180 days before you arrive. My suggestion would be to go ahead and get an idea of where you want to make reservations and days that would work for your family. As soon as 180 days out comes around call Disney and make those ADR's. Enjoy your trip and welcome to the boards!

Im sure you all with have a blast!! :goodvibes
Personally my favorite restaurants in WDW are Jiko, Boma (both in AKL), Alfredo's (Italy in Epcot) and Nine Dragons (China in Epcot).
Jiko does take 2 TS points though...but its SO worth it. It is our favorite place in WDW.

I agree with Alliex419 though, take a look at their menus and see what suits your family's preferences the best.

And Yes! Absolutely make your dinner reservations as early as possible!!

Enjoy your planning!! Its half the fun!!!!!!!

Welcome to the Dis!!!

You should call Disney Dining to make ADR's for your upcoming trip...

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/disneydining.cfm - all restaurants are listed there by location.. Happy looking. We all have favorites and it depends on what you like to eat. I do like Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club resort for burgers and shakes and also Spoodles on the Boardwalk for Mediterranean fare.....two restaurants outside the parks in the Boardwalk area that are good as well. Also, if you like an all you can eat Clambake and All American Buffet, you might want to try Cape May at the Beach Club Resort..

Check out the menus with your family....

Congratulations on your upcoming Disney trip.

While I know everyone in your party is older, I'd recommend Chef Mickey's as a must do, as it in my opinion, "epitomizes" the whole Disney experience. I've eaten at Ohana, Boma and Whispering Canyon all at dinner and enjoyed them all, I don't think you can go wrong with either.

You may not want to put off making your dining reservations for too long, though I don't think (IMHO) that it is necessary to book 180 days prior to your vacation. No need obsessing, though it may be fun ;).

ahah. believe me, we are all 4 at heart!
thanks so much!

Welcome, You sound like a Disney addict in the making :thumbsup2

First things first make reservations as early as possible ...you can always change them later.

You have to do one Character meal. My first choice would be breakfast at Crystal Palace and getting the very earliest time you can get. There is nothing better than walking down a deserted Main Street before the park opens.

'Ohana is a really good, fun place and if you schedule your ADR so that you are there during the MK fireworks its even better.

Boma is one of our favorites and the AKL is a great place to visit.

You will get a list of your own favorites over time and if you ask 20 people on this board what their most favorite and least favorite restaurants are. You will get 20 different answers. And a favorite of one person will be hated by another.

FTR our family favorites are Le Cellier, Boma, 1900PF, Cape May, 'Ohana, Chefs and just last week my DW and I went to Wolfgang Puck's Cafe for the first time and the meal was excellent.

Check the menus on-line to see what you like and just go for it.

Good Luck and most of all have fun.

Welcome! First, write down this phone # if you are in the US: 800-828-0228. IT is the number for WDW travel, from there, with option 3 I think, you can get to Disney Dining to make your reservations without calling long distance. Considering the amount of time you may stay on hold it's a good number to have.

For a picky eater, the buffets may work best for your family. "ohaha is good if your brother will eat grilled meats and scalloped potatoes, otherwise I'd say skip it. Another vote for places like Chef Mickeys and 1900 Park Faire, along with Crystal Palace and even Whispering Canyon if your family doesn't embarrass easily. Trails End at Ft. Wilderness has a good reasonable buffet with stuff like fried chicken as well.Don't know exactly where you're staying, that may help with the recommendations.
