Only 3 days until we leave!!!!

Oh my goodness!!! I can't believe how close it's getting!!!! We are both getting so excited!!!! We leave next Thursday, Dec. 7th at 7:25 a.m. Well, that's what time our flight is... we actually leave our house for the airport at 4:45 a.m. My brother is a saint for driving us... IT will be our daughter's first plane ride... I can't wait. I'm so excited for her!!

We are shipping a whole pile of stuff down to my FIL's house today. All our welcome bags, the attendants gifts (shampoo/conditioners, soaps, lotions - all from Bath & Body Works), friendship books I got from Hallmark, their cards, the bags I made for them, my knife and cake server (so they don't rip apart our luggage because they see a threat), our place cards, my bridemaids jewelry, and I think that's it... Oh yea, our candybar favors also. How could I forget about the chocolate????

I am going to start packing this weekend. I am all set except for something old and something borrowed... any ideas? I already have all my jewelry, card bag, shoes, blah, blah, blah... my friend offered to loan me $20 If I can't find anything, I have to be honest... I don't really mind. I just want to marry my best friend.

I started writing my vows. That is not an easy task... I borrowed some ideas from theknot.com They had real people's vows on there... and some of them had beautiful sayings... now I just have to try to incorporate some of my own into them... argh... who would have thought professing my never ending love to my best friend would be so difficult to put into words... But it will all turn out wonderful and we will be so happy.

I get to marry my best friend in 10 days. And both of our children will be there... of course, only one will actually remember it...
The good news is, I haven't had any signs of morning sickness yet. I just keep praying for it to hold off until after the wedding. If it happens on our honeymoon, I'll be ok. I can handle that. I just don't want to hug the porcelain bowl in my Cinderella wedding gown... That's a beautiful image... sorry.

My DF is bringing his laptop with him so I will be writing (I have intentions to anyway) my TR as we go so I don't forget any details. So, hopefully, when we get back on the 28th of December, I will be able to post most of the TR with pics... can't wait!!! You have all been such a huge help and I know I've said this lots of times, but I really don't know how I would have planned this wedding without you guys. Thank you so much. You have all helped us make our dreams come true.

We're leaving for Disney on the 17th and coming back the 24th. I'll definately keep a look out for ears!!!! Congratuations!!!!!

We are going to miss you by one day. We will be in Disney from the 7th - 16th. We leave for Aruba on the 16th and return to his folks house on the 23rd. We won't be in the parks again until the 26th and 27th... we will still, of course, be wearing our ears and pins. I can't wait to put them on. Our daughter has the princess ones as well...

Have a great day! Take a deep breath every once and awhile to soak it all in. Also make sure you get the pictures you want. I missed out on pics with my bridesmaids. He has a ton with his guys and I have maybe 3 with my bridesmaids. So that is my one thing I want to pass on to future brides....make sure you pay attention to what pictures are being taken so you don't miss out on the ones you wanted.

Your wedding will be beautiful and so will you. Have fun and can't wait to hear about it when you get back.

How exciting! I'm so jealous. I feel like it's still a lifetime before we go

...who would have thought professing my never ending love to my best friend would be so difficult to put into words...

I know...surprising isn't it. I had always imagined I'd write my own vows. I've loved to write since I was little, and graduated university with an English degree. Still, when I sat down...nothing came out. In the end I weaved bits and pieces of the ceremonies that Rev Jack sent us together. I still kind of feel like I whimped out I just wanted to share the one line I would have liked to incorporate. I still hope to include it somewhere. It's from a Pablo Neruda poem: "I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where."

I've just always found the line to resonate with me....and the best articulation of love I've ever read.

That's where I initially heard it too. I thought it was so beautiful I searched high and low for it. I found it in his compliation of "100 Love Sonnets". I could send a PM and type it out in its entirety if you'd like . It's just such a favourite of mine.

Angela - you are so sweet. THank you so much. EVerything is going to be great, for both of us!!! The day will be happy and filled with love and family and friends, and there's no better place to be than at a wedding surrounded by the ones you love.

Best Wishes on your wedding day!! I've been watching your posts for a long time and I know how excited you (both) must be Take deep breaths and enjoy every moment of your day. It will go by so fast! My wedding day was completely perfect, but it just flew by!

Here's a suggestion for something old and borrowed:
I asked my MIL for something to borrow because I wanted her to feel involved (DH is an only child and she and I have become very close) and she loaned me a pin that was her mother's. I thought that was so sweet. I pinned it under my dress so I had it with me. If you want, ask your FILs for something that you can pin up under your dress. It doesn't have to be something you carry or wear.
For something old I wore a ring I inherited that is over 100 years old. I wear it almost everyday anyway, but it is old, so it worked!
I also carried my mother's handkerchief. This was important to me not only because it brought my mother close to me on my wedding day but it was what I was supposed to borrow when she and I planned my wedding. When she passed I took the handkerchief, but couldn't consider it "borrowed" anymore. I keep it in a special drawer now and it means a lot to me.

Our DD is going to be our Jr. Bridesmaid. She is 10 3/4 (can't forget the 3/4 - she reminds me every day). She can't wait to go to FL and see mom and dad get married. We bought her a necklace with her initial on it, so we weren't the only ones getting a piece of jewelry.

AAAAHHHHHHH!!!! I think I'm losing my mind... my computer's CD-ROM drive died!!!!! What timing!!! Now I have to re-download all my ceremony music onto my brother's computer and burn the cd's there. But, I couldn't find the bridal march I had wanted and so I had to order the cd off of Amazon.com and have it overnighted... argh!!! I can't finalize the cd now until tomorrow evening!!! We leave Thursday morning around 5 a.m.!!! I feel like I'm losing my mind... nope... too late... already lost it... I still have to pack my suitcase and our daughter's suitcase... I am just afraid I'm going to forget something important... I will feel better after tomorrow night when the cd is done and we are mostly packed... until then, say a prayer for me...

oh yea, and a good friend of ours is in the hospital because he needs a liver transplant and he is very sick... so my DF and I went in and spent most of yesterday with him... he is in there today and will be there again tomorrow and we will both go in for a little while on Wednesday before we leave for FL. He is on the transplant list and they say things look hopeful for him getting a transplant in the next few months... please keep him in your prayers. Thank you.
