Online waitlist with 2 rooms for same night

After reading a recent post "be careful what you wish for with member services", and searching all over the DVC Member site, I am nervous about requesting a waitlist now. My goal is to get us all in one room---a ONE BEDROOM SAV View for both Oct 6 & 7 @ Kidani

Currently booked Oct 6 :
1) studio Sav View
2) studio Standard View
For second night (Oct 7) I have :
1) One bed Sav View (so we can all stay in one room)

My current waitlist is :
1) One bedroom SAV View for Oct 6

Now I'd like to also waitlist for a Sav View for the standard view studio on Oct 6.

I don't see anywhere where ONLINE DVC allows us to specifically designate which reservation we want to waitlist. My desire waitlist would be Oct 6, Kidani studio Standard to a Sav view. But I'm afraid DVC could cancel my 1 bedroom Sav View waitlist and replace it with the studio Sav View ????

I know this is confusing.....I have a one bedroom Sav View waitlisted for Oct 6, BUT....also would like to waitlist for a Studio Sav View that same night. Reason for this is in case one bedroom does not come through, maybe my friends could get a studio Sav View instead of the Standard which is all there is right now.

Is there any way to do this online ??? I don't see how......the online tools don't seem to let me specifically request not to cancel the one bedroom waitlist ??

Thanks for any advice....maybe this is one for a phone call ?

If it can't be done online, I would email the request so you have a record of what you want. It also gives MS time to study your request before making the waitlist. I would call after the fact to verify.

A friend and I have a VGC studio reservation for September 22-28. We just decided to stay an extra night to go to the first Halloween party at DL. Of course, rooms at VGC are soldout. I did 2 waitlists online, one for a studio and one for a 1 bedroom for September 28. We are going to book a cash night at PPH or DLH as a backup. May also look at a points room at PPH but since that would be reservation points, I'm not booking that until the last minute.

My understanding is that if you have 2 waitlists for the same night, then when one fills, the other will be automatically canceled and you will have to call to set it up again.

I would certainly call and tell them what you want and if the studio wait list fills first, then call and get yourself back on the wait list for the 1 bedroom.

The other option is to just set up the wait list for the 1 bedroom and then check the online site daily and hope you can change to the standard view studio to a savannah view on your own.

I had very good luck doing things this way for the trip I just completed in May.

Thank you to everyone. I think I will have to email as well as call on this one. My concern Sandi with the bold statement is that this is a high demand weekend due to F&W and Columbus Weekend. I don't think anything will show up later. I was very suprised that standard view studio popped up at Kidani this morning. All that has been available for a couple weeks now is SSR. At least this way my friends have a studio---just would have preferred giving them a savanna view vs standard (but they are thrilled just to be staying at Kidani with us).

Ok...update. Just got off the phone with MS.

They confirmed that IF the waitlist for the studio savanna became available FIRST, it would definitely bump off my waitlist for the one bedroom since it is the same night. MS suggested I not waitlist for the studio on Oct 6 if the one bedroom for that same night is really the waitlist I prefer.

Learn something new every day......I will just have to keep checking online to see if a savanna studio pops up. But at least I have the standard---better that than SSR since we all wanted to stay close during our trip since we're sharing a car.

The thing about Kidani is that you could request to have the standard view across the hall from the savannah view so you could all access the balcony and be close to each other. Because of the set up they might have a good chance of doing that. Or on the standard view studio try a request for one of the reclassified savannah view rooms that is located at the end of the Pembe savannah close to the pool.

Yes Sandi....I agree there is always hope ! For the past 2-3 weeks I couldn't get Kidani at all....the stand studio just popped up this morning Never know.....just have to be diligent !
