Online tickets and fastpasses

we're leaving for Disney on Monday. I already purchased my tickets online. I know that they can scan the tickets at the main gate from my phone but can I do the same with fast passes or do I need a physical ticket?

I am pretty sure you need a physical ticket, I have never used my phone for my tickets before but we do have papers that we have to print off from home and we normally just take them to the main gate. Normally after giving them the printed off papers we are given tickets though. It might be the same for when you use your phone.

You do. With phone tickets, they scan them at the turnstiles and give you a physical ticket. Everyone has a physical ticket of some kind.

All the same, any turnstile at either Park will process your printed paperwork with barcode, or scan your phone's screen to retrieve the purchase.

Once that is done, tickets are printed for each member of the group, a photo is taken of each person, and then that person needs to write their name on the credit card size piece of cardboard.

That "printed ticket" is used for the FastPass machines, plus is what you use to re-enter the parks each time you return.
