Impressed: Amazon, Shipping is good as always. I agree with a previous poster that the deals have not been great, I did get a few nice lightening deals and have order 10-12 items all will ease.
Unimpressed: Walmart.com - 30 mins to do an in-store pickup. they could not find the 2 orders before me in line. Never again. Amazon Prime to my door is the way to go.
Unimpressed: Me - I am just not on my game this year for finding the good deals. I am way behind on my shopping.
Impressed: Amazon - fast shipping, great packaging
Onlineshoes.com - super fast shipping
Ebay - every seller I've ordered from has shipped faster than any big company, also very good packaging
Unimpressed:
Kohl's - slow shipping
American Eagle - never received my online order even though the amount of the order sat in my paypal account forever showing as pending. AE had no record of my order and were beyond not helpful. I just said forget it and cancelled with paypal.
I'm quite exasperated with ToysRus.ca. Went to the local Toys R Us store, they didn't have the item I wanted, and the store manager encouraged me to order online. "It will be at your front door in just two days." Yeah, right. I ordered it a week ago and there's no sign of it.
I think I'll just stick with Amazon. They never let me down.
Unimpressed:
Agree Kohl's shipping stinks! I ordered a few things on Black Friday and got them within 2 days! I ordered a few more things the next week and haven't received them yet.
Agree that Disney Store has some of the worst coupons. It is so frustrating trying to use more than one at a time!
Impressed:
Mypix2canvas - I tried them over the summer when they were featured on the Today Show w/ a coupon deal. They were having a great sale so I bought 4 canvases. I sent my files and got an e-mail saying that 2 of the files weren't sufficient for production. No biggie. I asked they just cancel those two for now. There was a misunderstanding and my whole order was cancelled. I e-mailed a week later asking if my order had been shipped yet...error realized and the customer service e-mail was the most apologetic I had ever received. Customer service is really top notch as well as their product! I promptly received my canvases the next week!
funny you should say that, I just ordered something from fanatics.com today. The prices are definately good ( mine was cheaper than from the manufacturer) although there was some bug with their web ordering, it would not go through with dolphin HD but did go through with mobile safari.
Even with this minor gripe, I really like their website it is really well designed.
ThinkGeek.com- shipping was fairly quick for all three orders
drugstore.com= I ordered it on an evening after work- it was shipped that evening and I got it barely two days later
wine.com- ordered two wine sets to two different relatives in different parts of the US. Ordered Sunday evening and they both received them this morning. I even used a free shipping code.
Moderately Impressed-
moosejaw.com - fantastic price for a North Face jacket- but it took almost a week to arrive. I ordered two mens hoodies under a separate order and those only took a few days.
Impressed: Amazon-have done the majority of my shopping there this year, they've consistently had the lowest prices and can't beat the free shipping with prime. I really miss the days where they would refund the difference if they lowered the price though.
Newegg-came out with discount codes on video game preorders which most of my shopping was and they shipped as they were released, no problems at all.
Snorgtees-good quality shirts and fast shipping, although the shipping costs are a little high.
Tanga-I have never ordered from them before, but I ordered a team cap for DH. I wasn't expecting much since it's one of those "daily deal" type websites, but was pleasantly surprised when I received an email about a shipping delay and how they were working to resolve it.
Unimpressed:
Thinkgeek-I love their products, but their prices are high and shipping is higher, most of the items I found on there I was able to get on Amazon with free shipping. The things I did order from them were shipped in a timely manner though.
Most impressed - yoyo.com - I ordered from them after a tip from here and got my order the next day for cheaper w/a coupon code and free shipping.
Impressed - amazon - I have always loved doing business with them. Never had a problem and if I did, it was corrected easily.
Not impressed - Kohl's. I don't remember when I ordered but it was a slow delivery and their site was out of sooo many styles and sizes of PJs that it made finding things difficult. They are among the few that carry long PJs so I took my chances. They arrived today and will say, they are cute. I hope the long length will be long enough for DD.
Unimpressed - Kohls and American Girl. It's ridiculous that AG bases their shipping on how much you spend. There is no way that a doll costs $17 to ship. For that price it should have arrived overnight (still waiting on it and I ordered last week)
Impressed: Shutterfly - fast shipping, great confirmation. Also Foot Locker.com. Was able to have item shipped to my local Foot Locker for free and pick it up.
Not impressed and seriously disappointed: JC Penney. Ordered a Jansport backpack for DD black friday online. Regular price $55.00, sale price $19.99 with free shipping. Got my confirmation. Then on December 1 am informed that my order has been canceled. I call the number and am told "We sold out of those - we had no idea there would be such a demand". I asked what they could do for me as far as getting another backpack that was comparable. They offered me a $65.00 backpack and said they would give me 20% off. Really? Honestly? I'm wondering if this is their idea of "Fair and Square Pricing". Did they do this just to me or others? So I ordered the backpack at FootLocker.com for a great price.
I haven't been especially impressed with any, but I'm super UNimpressed with amazon this season. I have Prime, so should have fast shipping, but about 50% of my packages lately have either been delivered days after they should have or never showed up at all despite the tracking saying they were delivered. I think the real problem is with the local courier service they use for some shipments. Amazon was quick to replace what didn't show up, but it's at the point now that I'm scared to order anything from them because I have no confidence in when or even if it will show up. It's not like I can specify for them not to use the local courier service.
Unimpressed with Amazon this year. 3 times lately they have sent an incorrect item or my item hasn't left the warehouse. Instant chat customer service had been less than helpful & basically tried to tell me too bad, so sad today when my order was missing 9 yes 9 of the items!! The shipping weight on the package was less than 1lb that should be a red flag.
Impressed..Amazon. The most trustworthly shopping site on the web.
MAJORLY UNIMPRESSED... JCREW!!! I ordered a pair of New Balance sneakers with a 30% off code plus free shipping. They were too small for DGS so I returned them and requested an even exchange for a larger size. Not only was I changed full price plus shipping but I was also charged return shipping which is supposed to be free on all Crewcut items. Here's the kicker... the 30% off plus FS promo was still running!!! Had I returned them to the JCREW store (3 miles away) and reordered the larger pair I would have saved $25.
Very Good: Walmart.com and Macy's
Bad- Jc Penney-- same experience as above, no backpack, no e-mail either. When the rest of my order came (2 weeks later) it had the wrong items/ missing items. They did give me a free return ups pickup though.
Never again--Sears/Kmart--- had a problem with an order, took me several e-mails, then 5 phone calls to straighten it out, rude , uncaring, untrained. Will not go back, terrible customer service. I can't see how they stay in business.
