the time is drawing near for me to make my dining reservations.

Should I try on line reservations first or would those who have tried it recommend just making the phone call?

I would love to just do it online if it seems quick and reliable to everyone who's tried it.

Online went very smoothly for me. I did have an initial scare of not being able to get on for the first 1/2 hour, but everyone was having that problem. Have your priorities rated and start with your most important ADR and work your way down your list. I did have to shuffle some dates, but I got every restaurant that we wanted. Today I will be modifying one reservation with a fellow DISer and will now have the dining schedule I initially planned.

This site and the online system is the way to go!:surfweb:

I did not have any problems at all doing my reservations online....got everything I wanted! I think it took about 20 minutes total.

You can always try the online system first since it opens before the phone line. If it doesn't work for you, call in at 7 am!!

Can I do a 90+ reservation on line?

For example: My vacation starts 90 days from today. I want to make a reservation 3 days into my vacation. Can I make the reservation today or do I need to wait until 90 days before the dining date? (I hope this makes sense!)

If you're staying onsite and today is your 90 day mark, you can make the reservation today. If you are not staying at a Disney reosrt, you must wait until 90 days before the dining date.

Thanks, that's what I thought.

However, when I go on line, my dining date (Jan 15th) is greyed out. 90 days from today, Jan 12th, is active.

I was wondering if there is a trick to getting into the system with my reservation # and then making the ADR for the 15th.

BunsenH, forgive me if I'm asking the obvious, but did you enter your resort reservation number? On any restaurant's reservation page, there's a place you can click to "retrive your reservation." It's just above the calendar . Assuming the system is working, it will come back up and confirm that you have a reservation at whatever resort for whichever dates. At that point, you chould be able to go the calendar and look at your date of arrival, and the next ten days should be in blue and no longer grayed out. Again, this all assumes the system is working correctly - sometimes it just returns an error message and won't confirm a resort reservation.

jaysmom,

Thank you for graciously pointing out the obvious. Even after reading your suggestion it took a while to 'see' where to click. I was wanting to see a button.

Despite my new knowledge, I'm getting an error code. Time to grab the phone.

I know what you mean. They say that knowledge is power, but no amount of knowledge is powerful enough to conquer the technological wasteland that is Disney's online dining reservation system.

What time does the online system start allowing reservations? Is it midnight (FL time)? Thanks!
