When the date comes for me to book my online DVC reservations, do I have to mimic MS hours? Does my booking window open at Midnight or 9 am?

When reserving exactly 11 or 7 months out, you can start reserving at 8 eastern, an hour before the phone lines open. When reserving at other times, such as 10 months out at home resort, it is 24 hours a day.

At the present time, the online window opens at 8:00 a.m. EST whereas Member Services would be 9:00 a.m. EST.

For your information, I used the booking program twice this week for two separate reservations for next January. Everything worked flawlessly.

The only thing, presently, is that you have to call to add any people or to add extra days. I am in a day to day calling until my reservation is complete.

They are hoping to get those features working in the future. But, to make a basic reservation, it worked really well.

Even asked from which contract I wanted my points taken from first, second, et cetera. Pretty nice!

For whatever it is worth, I thought the booking online window was exactly what was discussed previously in this thread. But...

Last night I went in right after midnight and booked a reservation within my 7 month booking window and was successful. The interesting thing though is this actual resort is one of my home resorts. But I did not have enough points for this resort to book the room 11 months out. I had to take from other contracts from other resorts to make up the point difference and that is what made this reservation a 7 month booking window.

I found my success to be very interesting so I thought I would share...:thumbsup2 Do you think this was an error? If so, SHHHH let's not tell anyone...;)

If you are booking on the exact day of your 7 month or 11 month window, then it should be 8:00 am.

If you are booking even 1 day into the 11 or 7 month window, then you can book at any time.

Hi this is exactly the thread I was looking for we are 7 days from booking our Aluani Trip at the 7 month window (leap day ;)

So we are west coast does that mean we can book at 9 PM Pacific time if they system opens 12 AM Eastern?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

For the 7 month window, it's 8:00am eastern/5:00am pacific. I booked VGC yesterday at exactly 7 months, I tried it at 7:55am eastern and got an error. I had to wait until exactly 8:00am.

If you had enough points to book the first night in the 11 month window (The one before 8 am) and then the rest would be within 7 months, I would think that might work.
Can you book 7 days with MS with some 11 month points and some 7 month points if the 7 months falls during the stay?

ok so that is a curious question we need to borrow some points for UY June 2013 so I wonder if we will be able to book online or will the system do this for us?

We are also booking 8 days so hoping this wont be a problem to do all at once?

This is our first time doing this online. I was able to book a waitlist very easily for our VGC trip this July. VGC is our home and we are trying to add a night. I so wish they would expand Disneyland DVC, it would be good use of paridise pier!

You can borrow points when doing an on-line reservation. When you get to the page where the system starts taking points from your use year for your trip you will see the option to also do borrowing of points. If you are booking exactly 11 months out at home resort or 7 at others you will only be able to get 7 nights at one time. If booking later than exactly 11 or 7 months out you will be able to get all 8 nights at once.

Can you make consecutive one-day bookings online and then call MS to have them combined?

That is interesting. I wonder if it would have let you do that even on the day before... or the month before.... Did you try it earlier or just figure you had to wait until 7 months?
