online DVC member guidebook UP!!

Hey all,

I just went to the member site and saw that the new online membership guidebook is now up there!

I have yet to compare it to the print version, as the print version is at home and I am at work.

That's great news! Especially for those of us who've never gotten a new guidebook, even after FOUR requests in about two months.

I just took a look at the online guide, and it is fairly close when compared with the printed guide. There are certain things that you won't get, like the section dividers (which I can do without anyway), and the fold out point tracking sheets (but you can download a .PDF of them).

Could this mean the end to the printed version of the Guide? It's kind of early to tell because alot of people still like to have something physically in their hands that they can refer to.

Suffice as to say that the online guide will at least allow those members who have not received their guide yet to be able to get the necessary information that the guide provides.

Too many people don't have easy access to a computer -- like those of us who rely on, ahem, the one at the office -- so I think the old fashioned printed version will be along for, oh, at least the next 40 years

Perhaps they'll do what a lot of businesses are doing (Fidelity for instance) and give us the option. If they let each member decide whether to opt out of the printed guide, those who had easy access could use it online and they could spend less money on printing and mailing.

Thanks for the heads up! This will be a great reference when needed.

One thing that would make it even better is if the whole book was available in PDF format. It would be nice to search the entire book, and get good quality printouts as needed.
