I am looking to make my adr's for April 18-24 tomorrow when the online system changes to 180 days. I am trying to get familiar with the system today. When I login and try to pull up my reservation (using the dvc reservation number), I get the following message:

My Disney Vacation - Error
Sorry, we are not able to display your reservation at this time. Please try again later.

Is this because it is not within the 180 day window?

Has anyone else encountered this?

Looks like I may have to get on the phone tomorrow morning instead...:surfweb:

It's not about the 180 day window - you could always see your reservation before you window even opened.

I'm guessing it's either a system thing or a browser thing. I would try a different Internet browser or two. If you still get the same thing, I might try again tomorrow at 6 when it opens, and if that doesn't work, call on the phone at 7 AM.

Good luck! I feel for you - my 90 day window opened 2 days ago and I felt very lucky that it did!

To use a DVC reservation to make ADRs, you must first go to http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/restaurants/ and select the restaurant you want to dine at. Click on the 'Book a Reservation' link. Once the booking engine loads, look for the following:
Resort Guests & Dining Plan
If you have a Resort reservation or would like to use your Disney Dining Plan for this meal, please retrieve your reservation.
and click on 'retrieve your reservation'.

Thank you erionm!!

Now I found it - we'll see if online booking works tomorrow and doesn't crash from the volume:goodvibes

Just so you're aware (cuz I was confused:confused3) You can still only book them in the timeframe (in your case 180 days) from the actual dining reservation...it's not like you can make your entire week of dining in one sitting. In your case, it might be just as easy to hold off and book everything in one shot (aka based on the end of your stay). oh wait.. would this be Easter week you're going??? then yes.. book day-to-day!!
I did daily booking for just one ADR/day for this coming Christmas week, and while I feel it was necessary considering the time of year, in your case, you would probably not have an issue holding off for the time of your visit (if time logging in is an issue to your schedule)... :)

This is posted on the Other Disney News portion of the member website:

Based on Guest feedback, leaders will adjust the booking window for Walt Disney World restaurants effective Oct. 27, 2009, allowing Guests to book dining reservations as many as 180 days in advance (previously 90 days).

Guests staying in Walt Disney World Resort hotels will have the added benefit of booking as many as 10 days' worth of dining reservations 180 days in advance of their check-in date.

The change will not impact existing dining, recreation and tour reservations, which will be honored as booked.

Theme Park Operating Calendars also will follow the new window, debuting 180 days in advance.

That is not true - I just booked 10 days worth of reservations on Saturday in one online session. You just associate your reservation # when you're on the dining page for a particular restaurant and 10 days worth of dates will open up on the calendar. I even have a split stay - 2 DVC reservations - a 2 day and a 3 day - with a cruise in the middle -- and it still let me book for 10 days (well actually 9 was all I needed).

Vicki; that's good to know.. I guess I wasn't linked to the correct site. I'd called MS at day early (like I said, I was confused) and they warned me that if I called the next morning that the phones would be clogged with bookings for the Member Cruise and gave me the dining link. Then when I logged on the next morning, all I could get was the actual 90 day calender... and I booked them day-day. Ugh.. whatever.. dining is not the primary focus of any of our trips and most of our ADR'S are covers that can be changed if needed.. so maybe next time I'll understand the online booking better:rolleyes1

FYI, the online system is in meltdown this morning. Getting this message:

Our site is currently down for maintenance. Please try back later.

I'm seeing yours and adding a "the booking system is currently unavailable" to that

:surfweb:

I think we all could predict this would be a slow day.

same here. been online since ~ 6 am, but "...unavailable..."
not surprising that the servers would be overloaded.

Got the same response:

"the booking system is currently unavailable". Started at 6:30 CDT (7:30 am EDT).

BTW, the park calendars are also having problems. Could only get one for Animal Kingdom and the water parks starting with March 1, 2010.

I gave up on the online...sat on hold with 407-WDW-DINE for 30 minutes. Just got off the phone with them and got the days/times I wanted for April 18-24. Good luck everyone & thanks for your help!

Good luck to everyone making ADRs today! Hopefully, the online system will be back up soon. :grouphug:

Tried again after 8:00 am EST the system just sat there with "Loading Reservation system" ... then after 5 minutes got the same response:

Make Your Reservation
Sorry, the booking system is currently unavailable. Please try again later or call (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463

The on line system has been down since before 6am. The phone lines have been busy since 6:55am. I've been redialling since 6:50am and still have not gotten through!

New to DVC.
Does DVC have another number we can call or we call like everyone else.
I have been calling for 45 minutes. Nothing. Just busy. Thanks.

you can call member services (after me) they have access to the dining reservation system as well

I finally got the DVC opening message, pressed 1 to get Member Services, then the line rang no less than 30 times. It finally stopped ringing and the menu options repeated and I had to press 1 for MS again. I finally got the welcome to MS recording and now I'm just holding. :rolleyes1

ETA - there was a lot of silence, then ringing, then recordings - it was 6:44 into the call before I finally got hold music. This could take a while...
