Online Dining Reservations Now Available

I didn't close all IE windows because I have too much stuff open right now....

But either way, it's definitely not related to logging in, since I never logged in.

ETA: It's also still not good for split stays, if you want the 90+10...since the only dates showing up for me are my CSR stay with no option to add a second or third resort confirmation number to associate to the account, even though I'll be onsite the whole time. However, I've heard that split stays can cause problems even when calling in (for the 90+10), so we'll see...

Okay, I just tried closing all IE windows, and the resort reservation does not come up the next time I opened dining reservation window. So it's related to the session, not login. Either way....still only one resort reservation can be added (unless I'm missing something).

Webmaster Cricket (and then I noticed it, too) noticed, and posted over in "the other" thread, something odd, though.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2205123&page=4

When you change one of the digits in your ressie, you get a slightly different error message.

Cricket's thought was that meant one of two things:
1) They are using a checkdigit and the res #'s can be validated (but not found)
2) They can find them, but choose not to allow us to use them for some reason.

I thought up a 3rd possibility and thats that they can find the ressie, but there is some problem with their database concerning phone numbers not populating right off the DVC system...and the error message we're all seeing is THAT message.

Could you do me a favor? Just to test?

Go over, enter your confirmation number (which we know works), and a completely BOGUS phone number and then copy and paste the error message over here? I'm curious...

Good point. Here ya go...

"""
To make your reservation, please enter the requested information:

* The reservation(s) you were trying to retrieve cannot be found. Please check that the information you provided is correct.
"""

Which is exactly the error message I get, when I input my reservation number, and my phone number.

Now, that's not proof...but it's compelling, given what we've seen so far...and given if you enter a completely bogus reservation number you get a different error message.

So the question now is...why? What's really in the phone number field for the rest of us IF that's really the problem.....hmmmm. I'm gonna have to do some fussing tonight.

So you'd have to go to the site, add your ressie, make all your ADR's for that section of the stay, close all your ie windows, then open a NEW one, and start all over.

What a pain.

Is anyone having better luck using Mozilla instead of IE?

I use firefox at work as my main browser. No different. Actually, the text is formatted weird with firefox (could be my text size setting) so I've tried it in both browsers. Easier to read in IE, but same results.

Oh, and to update:

My wife is awaiting her 3rd call back from the 3rd level of supervisors. At some point this morning, they finally started to acknowledge there was a problem. :)

If she gets that call back, I'm going to have her mention (and I'm sure they'll say she's crazy, again) the phone number thing. I'm sure IT will not take the suggestion, but....I gotta try.

I just tried entering my reservation number again and got this message this time:

My Disney Vacation - Error
Sorry, we are not able to display your reservation at this time. Please try again later.

Now what does that mean? They found it but can't display it?

They know about the problem. If you have a suggestion as to what is the problem please let me know i can pass it on. I am talking to Reservations and Food and Beverage which in turn is working with Tech. While DVC can complain about the situation, they are not the ones to fix it.

Once you log in you click on the upper right hand corner under my disney vacation/dining reservations & then you input your conf #, tel # & your reservations will pop up with a cancel button right next to it.
Thanks. I had to cancel one I made yesterday, but couldn't figure out how, so called Disney Dining to do it.

I have been using this system via the Travel Agent portal for about a month. The system will only recognize a ressie number from CRO. It will not recognize a DVC number nor will it recognize a Land/Sea number.
I called our TA IT contact this morning and it was explained that they were aware of several bugs that they are working on. I did submit a trouble ticket on the DVC issue.

After reading about ransom's success I tried my reservation # on the ADR site. Mind you, I'm well within my 90-day window and all of my ADRs have been booked already but......the system did recognize my reservation # as well. I do have a split stay and I only entered the res # for the AKV portion. The system recognized the dates we are staying there and the resort. I didn't try my BLT res #. Like ransom, I have no idea what is different about what I input. :confused3 It seems to be hit or miss!

The only good news right now for us is that I just plugged in a reservation for Chef Mickey for Breakfast to see if it would show any availability for the very last date possible, September 15th (last day out)and two times came up: 7:20 and 8:10 a.m. It is already 4:45 p.m. EST and those two times are still showing up for me. This gives me hope that even though I will have to call to make my reservations, I can still check each day online once I have hit my 90 days and possibly find the locations and times I am seeking.

I have a DVC ressie, and like most of you, I cannot get the application to recognize my reservation. Which is to be entered? Is it the Confirmation # for the reservation or the actual Reservation # ? They are both 12 digits and the actual text says "Reservation Confirmation number". So, which is it? Thanks.

Oops, sorry...I goofed. The actual text is, "please enter the confirmation number for your Resort reservation". Anyhow, which is it...confirmation # or actual ressie # for a DVC ressie?

There is only one number, it is listed as a Reservation number on your mail out you get from Member Services, some call it a confirmation number but it is the same #. 12 digits.

My reservation number just worked. We're not going until Nov 1 - staying on points at BCV but I was curious so I tried my reservation number and it worked. It says this :

Your 11/01/2009 - 11/07/2009 Disneys Beach Club Villas vacation has been retrieved and will be associated with any dining reservations you make for those dates.

To disassociate your vacation reservation from your dining reservations, click "Disassociate Reservation."

Maybe the bugs are being worked on.

I can not get anything to work. Oh well, I'll have to call Sunday, I guess. Woulda been nice, though...

I tried to enter in my Sept 2009 and Jan 2010 trips, neither one worked. Guess Sunday I will be calling. Would have been nice to do it online. :sad2:
