Online Checkin Question

Hi,
I haven't done online checkin yet cause I feel might have a better shot with room requests with a cast member doing check in.

So are room assigned earlier with online checkin?? I know its usually done a few days ahead. Does online checkin change that?

Has anyone done online checkin and had their room ready or changed to a room ready room when they got there?

We did on-line check-in last December. I did call five days out with room requests, which were all honored. Our flight arrived in Orlando very early in the morning and both our rooms were ready for us at check-in at 10 am. Good luck! (The resort was POR)

Thats great room ready so early...I will be arriving early should get to resort by 10:30 so it would be awesome if my room was ready

I did online check in for a November trip to SSR. Our room was not ready in the section we requested but we were able to get a room right away in a different section.

I've always done online check in. You still speak to a representative and can make room requsets at the time you get there.

Good to know you can call ahead a few days and do that, though, and hopefully they'll be honored.

I have done online check in twice. My requests were honored both times. My room was ready at Kidani for my October check-in (around 9 AM I believe - 1 BR savanna). For my May trip 2012 (Memorial Day week), we checked in at 7AM. The room wasn't ready...no big deal, we were dropping off the van to head directly to EPCOT for RD. We came back to the resort around 2 to swim, room was still not ready. It was also not ready when headed back to EPCOT around 5. We got back to Kidani around 8 PM and had still not received our text. We asked at the front desk if the room was ready. They checked the computer and said no, but they would send someone up right away. We got our text around 8:45. We did ask about switching to another room. We were told that there were no available 1BR savanna rooms to switch us to at the time. Whatever...we only felt that it inconvenienced us when we arrived after dinner to a room not yet ready still.

My last experience will not deter me from using online check in again this summer.

Went to DVC site.....went to my ressie...clicked on online checkin and it brought me to generic Disney page trying to make a new ressie?

What am I doing wrong?

A lot of people have reported it does not work through the DVC website. Try using www.mydisneyreservation.com

wierd.....I used the link above yesterday and when I clicked on "booked using DVC" it asked me for my confirmation number which i didn't have handy....DUH....so i just did it now and it is taking me to the book a new ressie page. Guess I am not meant to checkin early lol

I always think how well your room requests are met with online check in depends a bit on the resort. We've gotten our requests with online check in for Aulani and Kidani, but rarely get them at OKW. Of course, there aren't many areas I don't like at OKW, so it doesn't really matter.

I would love to do online check in, but I don't want charging priviledges on both room cards, and I don't see a way to request that. Is there any way to avoid that?

I did online check in for an arrival Mar 1...............we got into OKW about 7 am, so didn't expect room to be ready. We headed to a park. No test ever came and we were so tired. Went back at 4 and it had been ready for awhile (the no text thing also happened to us in Dec. at VGC )
We did get the area we wanted......I had requested it when making the reservation and then again made sure it was noted on the online check in page.

Also did online check in for March 9. We got to VWL (coming from a cruise) about 10 and room was ready

You can take it off when you are actually at the resort.
