Online Check In?

I am debating whether or not to do online check in. A request for a high floor has already been called in a few months ago by the person we are renting DVC points from. Does the online check in mess with the first request at all? Also we have 3 couples going and want to add 3 different credit cards to the magic bands (one per couple), can we do this online? I know you can add one credit card, but I didn't know about adding multiple online. If we have to go to the desk to add the credit cards anyway does it make more sense not to check in online (aka, will we have a better chance of getting the room request?) Would love to hear your experience and advice! Thanks!

Yes, additional requests for room preference will "mess" with the DVC member's request. If a high floor is your priority, then don't muddy the waters with additional online requests.

You will not be able to add 3 CCs to your account online. You will have to stop at the front desk to accomplish this at some point.

Skipping the front desk or doing check-in in person has no influence on your room assignment. Since you're staying DVC, you will most likely be assigned to a villa that another guest vacated that day because DVC is designed to be at 100% capacity year-round. It's entirely possible that none of your requests will be met. Checking in online will enable you to skip the front desk and go directly to the parks when you arrive. You will get a text message when your villa is ready (most likely after 4 PM). Doing in-person check-in will involve waiting in line but will give you the chance to possibly change the assignment if you don't like your first location.

We are renting points as well, but no requests have been called in. We went through one of the services to buy the points.

I assume that means our only chance to make a request is to do so during online check-in?

Could we also send one of those Touring Plans faxes?

You could ask the agency you used to ask the member to note any room requests.

I don't believe DVC accepts faxed requests.
