Has anyone done this? Are there any negatives about doing the online check in?

We had a great experience twice...Easy online process...Packet was ready when we arrived at the resorts...Only negative for us is that you still have to pay for the DDP (if you are getting it) when you arrive...The online system does not allow you to pay for it at time of check-in...So it takes a few extra minutes when you arrive at the resort...But we did not wait on a check-in line and the DDP only added a few minutes to our contact time with the CM...I will do it again next trip...

BTW, there is a spot to make a room request location request when you do the online check-in...But DVC cannot access that...So do not make your sefld crazy trying to do that...All room requests only go through MS

Did it twice this trip. Both times my requests were ignored and we got the worse rooms in the villas. Each time I had to join the normal check in and get the cast member to change the room number and print new keys.

no way will I use it again. It makes me think of drive through fast food. ie they give you the rubbish and hope you have driven off before you notice it!

Used it for our trip over Labor Day week and it was the fastest I've ever gone through Check-In. And I've been checking in at WDW for a loooooong time!

We did it for our BCV stay in May; our WLV stay in July; and our BCV stay in August. All 3 times we got all of our room request and each time we got in our room first thing in the morning. I must be extremely lucky as we never get our room assignment first thing in the morning. Well, needless to say, we check in on Sunday Oct. 18 at the BWV and I did again do online checkin, so we'll find out if I got any of my request. Requested a dedicated 1 bedroom and one of the rooms ending in #123.
