If the online check-in feature is used for DVC are you able to choose a location where you would like to stay? If so, do they give you a room assignment at the time you use the online check-in?

On line check in does not assign room numbers. That is done when you arrive at the resort. You can request a certain room but I would call DVC Member Services to do that. They would note your request on your reservation. Disney tries it best to grant room requests, but as they say, the request is noted but not guaranteed.
