Online check-in when for reservations made with rented DVC points?

I rented DVC points from a member but have the reservations pulled up under my account at disneyworld.com. As of today, our trip is 10 days out so I clicked on the reminder for online check-in. It takes me to a page to book a new reservation. Am I supposed to be able to complete the online check-in even though I am not a member? I'm not sure if Disney's system is acting up and I should keep trying or I should have never have had an online check-in link in the first place! :

I also have a reservation that was made by a DVC member. My reservation # does show up under my name and I could also do on-line check-in, if I wanted to.

Yes, you should be able to complete the on-line check-in process if you wish. Doesn't matter that you are not a member.
