:thumbsup2 We checked into SSR on Wednesday and everything was ready to go when we got there around 4:00pm. I thought this service worked great. Everything was in the packet and ready to go; room keys, car pass, etc. I only needed to show my photo ID. It probably took all of 1 or 2 minutes before I was on my way to the room, much quicker than it would have been without checking in online. I only made 1 request with my reservation (Congress Park), which we did get.

I will definitely use this service again!

glad to hear it's working for some people. hopefully they will get the kinks worked out so everyone can use it soon. we check in on monday at the boardwalk villas and haven't been able to do on line check in yet. have been trying since my 10 day limit. oh well, i'm just glad to know it's working.

are you going to come back and give us an update on how the parks are this weekend?
 
We just booked for August and I saw the online check-in. Hooray! Nothing like a long trip on the airplane and then the antsy kids waiting to check in! Do they assign your room online?
 

we dont check in until after midnight, so i am hoping that by using the online check in we get a better chance of getting the room we want. Since hopefully, they lock in your room and print your keys before everyone else checks in that day. Arriving late always limits the chances of getting the best possible locations, i am hoping that online check in will help . thanks for posting a positive experience.
 
I'm going in May, and is the 10 day on line limit the last time to check in? How many days before did you use the check in? Are all the resorts open for that?
 
When you use the online checkin, can you place your room requests on at that time? I have a 1st floor request already placed but I do want to be near a DSA and wonder if I need to call to have that placed on there or it can be done at the time of online check in. Or possibly, even wait and do the traditional check in. Thanks!
 
I can say the online check in worked wonderful for us. We got all our request and was there by 11 am. Room was ready. We also got to eat dinner where we wanted too with out prior reservations.

You can't place these type of requests with online check in, but you can do them by phone. I know because we have the same requests,:lmao: 1st floor, near a DSA. I have them noted on my resort ressie. I would definitely call to add the DSA request.
 
Online check in worked great for me as well. I checked in to a cabin at FW last Wednesday. It asks for your estimated arrival time, and I said 10am. I got there about 10:15, and they had a cabin ready and waiting. I was amazed, especially checking in that close to Easter. I was sure I'd have to wait.

I can't comment on requests, because for this trip, I didn't make any. I figured they would have such a high occupancy rate that I wouldn't have a lot to choose from anyway. I ended up with what I would have requested anyway - a cabin close to a bus stop and near the center of the Fort. Maybe they are psychic now? :rotfl2:
 
We could have used online check-in when we stayed at POP a few years ago. We must have waited in line to check-in an hour and a half to 2 hours. I will be using it this year. I guess online check-in is like a Fastpass.

I would call now to have all requests noted in the system! I also want to be close to a DSA with a first floor room and have always gotten my requests met. If it allows you to add this online as well I would add there too. I would think Disney would review the requests noted in the system as well as the one's made when you check-in online prior to blocking the rooms and making the keys.

The room request section of the online checkin page was very limited for our upcoming trip to POR. I was only presented three possible requests: Pack 'n Play, Trundle Bed (i.e. Alligator Bayou), and refrigerator (which I think is bogus because all POR rooms have a refrigerator). Of the three request, I was only allowed to select two of them at the same time.

There was no space provided to request a floor, building, or anything else. Hopefully my floor/building request noted with my original reservation make it to the assigner. I think to be sure I will still send in a FAX a day or two before we arrive.

We checked in on Easter Monday. The regular check-in line at POR was out the door. We arrived at noon (had anticipated a 3pm arrival on the online form). The online check-in line was short, but unfortunately the couple a few people in front of us (holding up the whole line) was at the wrong resort (should have been at the french quarter) and they took both the online check-in people to explain to them to go to the right resort!

Other than that the online check-in was quick and painless! And saved us from an hour wait at the regular check-in.

Our room was ready immediately. I didn't make any specific room requests (our kids are older, so location wasn't that important). We had a room in AB bldg 25. Close to a quiet pool and very close to the west depot bus stop (which is 1st to MK and 2nd to all other parks). We were happy with this location.

We are thinking about a return visit in late Aug/early Sept and will do online check in again.
 
I'm glad to read this thread! I have a problem with change - worried it won't work and such - so this is a little relieving.

I will probably still do line check in though. More good stories may convince me to try though :thumbsup2
 
When you pick up your packet at the online check-in desk does it tell you what your room number is somewhere in the packet? What if your room is not ready yet? (We're arriving at 11am) And does anyone know how a faxed request works with online check-in? If I do online check-in at 9 or 10 day mark will they assign my room at that point and already know which room I'll be in?

Oh and one more question...if they assign us a room and we don't like the location are we stuck with it or could we go to the front desk and ask to be moved?
