Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

I can't believe that Disnye Visa just came out with free dining for the time that I'm going down....already got a pin code b4- but now I see my future being even more difficult to get!:wizard: I think for my day I'm going to have my computer & my laptop going so I can get everything-- I wonder if it will let you log in at the same time??????

Since the Disney Visa offer is only for the counter service plan for value resorts, that should help with availability.:)

I think I have been logged on before on both our desk top & my DH's laptop. I'm just not sure how it will respond if you're trying to make reservations. :confused3 (I was doing something else at the time & I couldn't get it to work, thought it might be my computer so that's why I was logged in on both). Some people have mentioned good success just using one computer and opening multiple tabs. They reported that everything ended up all in one shopping cart and they could just check out with all of their ADR's at once (hope that made sense!)

I fretted a lot about getting what I wanted, but it all turned out fine. I doubt it will be as busy as the Sept free dining. Just know what you want, do the tough stuff first, and put the tough stuff as far as possible into your 90 + 10.

Good luck! :wizard:

A few people have mentioned that you should empty your cache & delete cookies when getting ready to do your ADR's. Does anyone know why this is necessary? So far when playing with the system I haven't seemed to have any problems (ie. pulling up my reservation, etc) and I haven't done this. I'm just wondering why I should be doing this (I don't want to get closer to the check out & discover a problem). Thanks!

I didn't do this either and had no issues this morning.

Am getting really nervous now ..my 90 day window opens this weekend.
I'm a little (ok, a lot) confused as to why I should be clearing cookies,
history etc. before I make my ADR's.
Also, some are saying to not log in before 6:00 while others say they have done it before 6:00 and everything was fine. At this point I'm not even sleeping thru the night thinking of all that could go wrong.
Please help me!!!:confused3

I was thinking my 90 day window opened tomorrow and on the way to work, I counted the days again in my head. Oops, it opened TODAY. I didn't log in until about 10 am and still got what I wanted for ADRs. It really isn't that hard to do. I didn't do anything with cookies or getting up before dawn. I did have to call WDW to do one reservation for the new restaurant replacing Spoodles. We're going there our first night we're there in October. :yay:

This would be a very user dependent issue. If your cookies and temporary internet files are really full, it could slow down your computer. It's just a good thing to do every now and then regardless of when you're doing ADR's.....

Since we do our banking on both computers we tend to delete our temporary files quite frequently. Never thought about the cookies though. If it could speed things up maybe I will dump them tomorrow - can't hurt!

Thanks so much for the advice. It makes sense to clear out temporary files and cookies to speed things up but it's good to know even if I don't, everything should still work for me. At this point I'm afraid to do anything to my computer in case it decides it didn't like what I did to it and pays me back tomorrow morning by not co-operating with me when I do my ADR's!

Has anyone been able to book Mama Melrose this week? Our 90 day window opened Tuesday and I have been unable to get a dinner reservation for a non Fantasmic night. I tried any dinner time and various size parties and still nothing. I even tried calling and was told no availability at any time. It seems a little strange when the other TS restaurants have tons of openings. I'll keep trying, but I was wondering if this is glitch or if the restaurant has become this popular?

I could only get MM for lunch when I tried on Friday (for Oct 22-Nov 1).

ADR's are done ... got everything we wanted within 5 minutes of our times, including CP on Oct. 31 for MNSSHP! The only exception was Chef Mickey's on our day of arrival, which was 15 minutes later than what we wanted.

Unfortunately I am now waiting to call at 7:00 because the darn system charged me for CRT even though we are on the DP. :headache:

I got it sorted out. The CM I spoke to said something about the online system booking under a different system than central dining and that she could go in & rebook CRT under our dining plan. :confused3 I thought they were both under the same system. Either way, I got my new ressie for only 5 minutes later, my credit card has been refunded, and I can pull my new reservation up online. All is right with the world. :rotfl:

Is there a place to list that someone in the party has severe allergies?

Once you select the time for your restaurant it opens a page with the specifics of your reservation (time, number of guests etc). On that page there is a button you can select for special dining requests or needs or something like that. You may be able to note allergies in there. I didn't look since we didn't need that.

I keep trying to make online reservations - I put in 2 adults, one child under 17 and then it comes back and tells me I need to enter the age of the child - however there's no place to enter that information. Anyone have any idea why?
Thanks for any and all help!
BTW - long time lurker, first time posting! Maybe this'll get me into the DIS way of life!:hippie:

When you put one child, another box should open up farther to the right on the screen with a choice of ages for you to select from. Click on the correct age.

That's what I assumed was supposed to happen, but for some reason there's no extra box popping up! Maybe I need to reboot my computer and try again...
