Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

Has anyone been able to book Category 2 or 3 for Spirit of Aloha? My trip isn't until Nov/Dec,, but I am just trying out the system as any good Dis'er would. I have not been able to get Cat 2or 3 to come up for the Spirit of Aloha. I wonder is it that Cat 2 and 3 are sold out since these are covered by the dining plan or does it offer the best seats first? Does anyone have any info about this?

Thanks,

No one has certain information, just anecdotal stories reported here on the boards.

The system WILL let you double book. I suppose it has to because no one in their right mind would cancel what they had until they had the new one locked down.

A few people reported just having their ADR's cancelled out of the blue with no warning when they were double booked. A couple of folks reporting to be CM's said they had approval to do that when they came across them.

This is NOT happening on a wide-spread basis. But I can't imagine anyone taking that sort of a chance when ADR's are so hard to come by.

To the person holding a couple of other ADR's while waiting for CRT, you should cancel one now: 1) for your own protection so they don't BOTH get cancelled and 2) just out of common courtesy for others seeking ADR's.

I have lots of double bookings under my reservation. I am doing the planning for a few families traveling together. Some nights we are all going together and some nights we want to go as couples. I agreed to get up early and do our ADRs. I am sure I am not the only person doing something like this so it is VERY unlikey that reservations would just be canceled.

I will also have double reservations - we are celebrating my in-laws 60th - and on a couple of occasions they will be having a private meal together, without the rest of the clan - so I will have two ressies on those nights.

Would that be considered a 'double booking' by a Disney CM

When I first started checking my date for a CAT 2 only 1's and 3's were showing now it only shows 1's. I am guessing this means the 3's are now sold out as well since the 3's were showing at one time. HDDR shows all 3 CAT's available on my date.

It shouldn't be considered double booking because you have split your party. A CM might not look at the reservation and cancel, but I would think this would be really rare.

I just wanted to double check - Hoop Dee-Doo you can book online and Fantasmic Dining Pkg you call in.

In my case, I did not split my party. There are three groups and we all have our own reservation. Coming and leaving on different days. I am doing all the planning and made reservations for some of our nights - some for all and some in the same place a few hours appart and some for the same time in different places - we have our reasons!! Very complex planning involved here.

I really do not think CMs are looking at these and trying to decide which ones to cancel (with out even reaching out) and which are OK.

How interesting it would be for one of us to show up with our email confirmation only to be told they could not find our reservation because some CM 3 months ago decided someone double booked. Does anyone really beleive this will happen just because we used the online system. I could go in now and book 10 different reservations for 10 different places for 90 days from today without entering a reservation number. Why would Disney punish someone who has a reservation and needs two dining reservations for the same day.

I have a question. I would much rather use the online booking, when it's time. I am planning at least 1 ADR that you have to book with a CC. I am on the didng plan and I will be using my dining credits to pay for it. When the online booking asks for a CC to make the ressie, has anyone had problems with your CC being charged?

While planning our ressies for last September, there were many reports that Disers had some of their ADR's cancelled on them with no notice. So of course, I was nervous about ours only because we were traveling with my parents and brother. So some nights we were eating as a party of 7 while other nights were eating in 2 or 3 smaller groups.

I was the one doing all of the reserving and planning so I just made sure to have each ADR (if it was when we were split up into smaller groups) put under a different name and phone #. If the 4 of us were going in one direction, then we used our last name and home #. We did the same for my parents/brother using their name and #.

That way we could have 2 different ADR's around the same time but not connected so we didn't have to worry about having one cancelled like if I had made both ADR's with just my info.

For this upcoming trip, we made our initial ressie over the phone but I now have been tweaking them online. If I find something that will work better for us, I then quickly cancel the existing ressie to be sure that I don't appear to be double booked and risk the chance that Disney will cancel both or even the one that I actually want on me.

I made our first night's ressie online but made the rest of them on the phone @ WDW-DINE because I couldn't do the 90+10 with my DVC ressie. I can pull up the first night's ADR (that I made online) but can't pull up any of the ones a made over the phone...even though I was able to get the dining system to recognize my DVC ressie. Anyone else able to do it? :confused3

I hope I'm not posting this in the wrong thread! Quick question: I'm staying off site, but me and my friend wanted to have one or 2 dinners at a couple of resort TS. When I make my ADR, how much do they charge me? Or is it placeholder to use if I don't cancel or show up for my ADR? Thanks in advance!

Is anyone else having trouble using the on-line system?

When I try to put my reservation number and phone number in I get an error message that says:

"We are unable to retrieve your reservation. You may continue to make your dining reservations, contact your travel agent, or call 407-WDW-DINE for assistance."

I ended up calling and got through straight away, but did not get all the times etc that I wanted - so I want to check to see what else is around...but since it will not accept my reservation number it will not let me look at my +10 days!!!

VERY frustrating!!!!

Anyone have any suggestions?
enter phone no like this 0871-231-1234, not like this 08712311234 it worked for me from the uk,have not booked with Disney but with uk travel agent
hope this is of some use Dave

Thanks Everyone!

I will go back and check the phone number...but it accepts what I am putting in for me to check my reservation/make a payment:confused3

I did make the booking on line direct with Disney - I have not used a travel agent at all for this trip!

So very confused and frustrated!!:headache:

Hi Sandra
I'm in Melbourne too and have been having some problem. I'm booking my ADR's day at a time online but am unable to retrieve them once they are made. I get the same message. I rang WDW-Dine to retrieve some of my ADR's and I asked what phone number is associated with the ADR. They say that each of them show 'unknown' for phone number in their system. I've used two different numbers, home and mobile, but both show 'unknown'. Yet they've accepted each number when i've made reservations.

hi jjzmgailey,
I had the same trouble. You may have used a cell phone number for your online ADR's and another number when you were on the phone with the CM.

Disney will not charge you anything unless you are booking dinner shows, fantasmic pkg., Princess meals (amount up front). If you are on the Disney Dining Plan then they will only take your credit card as a hold and your Dining Plan will be charged when you arrive at the resturant.

Just basic meals at Disney booked online or by phone does not cost anything to book.

Can't get my + 10 days to come up. I am only able to book our arrival day. I'm getting really upset.

Well, I hope we both can breathe a sigh of relief when this weekend is over! Which ones are the important ones for you? Mine are probably Chef Mickey's and Ohana. I haven't read much about people having a hard time getting into the rest of mine (Narcoossees, Garden Grill, 50s PT, HDDR, Kona, WCC). Good luck and pixie dust!pixiedust:

I can't wait for this w/e to be over!! I was woken up by one of my girls at 4am, escorted her back to bed, then laid in my bed waiting over an hr for sleep to come...no luck. I finally rolled out of bed and came downstairs just after 5. I sooooo have Disney ADRs on the brain. It's sad!:surfweb:

I feel like I have too many important ones and I'm only setting myself up for disappointment. I now know after playing w/ the online system exactly one wk before I needed to that I can FORGET CM my first night. what was I thinking?!?!?! I do want CM, though, so I'll aim for later in the trip. I also want a 1900PF dinner, PSB (L or D), CP 8am breakfast (on one particular day only), a Tusker breakfast (again, on one particular day only but AK day could be moved around), Coral Reef (L or D)...my other not so important ones are Garden Grill, Wave and SciFi (we'll need 7 total when all is said and done). We don't have park hoppers...so my ADRs are really planning my wk. Right now I'm trying to plan my ADRs around the parks I want to be in that day, but I have a feeling that once I get online my ADRs will totally dictate/move around my park days. big sigh. I just want 6am on Sunday to come NOW!! I need sleep again! Good luck to you!

We are splitting our stay between 2 resorts. Will we have difficulty with 90 plus 10 online?

This is my total fear for my ADR day in 2 days. Did you log on after 6am? Did you play w/ the system beforehand and did/does it recongnize your reservation info? If the answer to these questions are all yes, then I'm extra super scared now. I'm sure you did this...but did you hit 'refresh'? Or maybe you could log all the way out and go back in? Please tell me the +10 came up for you by now! good luck.

I have logged in logged out tried everything. Even went to another computer. So upset now. I have 30 ADR's to make.
