Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

Ok, I take back the bad things I said about the online ADR system. I was just mad that I could not get an ADR at Le Cellier. I told myself to keep trying every day to see if something opens up. Well, it paid off last night. I got online and managed to get a 7:00 p.m. on my first full day at the parks. I was jumping up and down at my computer. :yay: So, I had to cancel my other reservation for that day (because thats the honest thing to do). I also had to move a few other things around. I made sure to cancel ADR's that I was not going to stick to. I'm gonig to keep trying every day to get an earlier time at Sci-Fi, because I really don't think I want to eat dinner at 8:30 p.m. Keep trying to get what you want, it pays off!! Plus the online system saves the cost of a long distance phone call!!

As I posted yesterday, 90+10 was not working on my reservation. I called at 7 and was able to book the 90+10. I logged in today and now 90+10 is working for my reservation. It makes me wonder if it was somehow off a day? I did not check between noon yesterday and 9:00am EDT today, but it was working this morning. There were plenty of dinner openings at Le Cellier and Ohana starting on Sunday Sept 27th through Weds Sept 30th, nothing before that.

Are you staying DVC?? I still waiting for them to fix this for us DVC members. I have to make ADRs for October on July 19th and was hoping to do it online and get the 1 hour head start.

Silly question, but considering the problems with the online dining reservations system as relates to people who booked with a travel agent - is it possible for the travel agents to call and add a phone number to the reservation? It's my understanding that the whole problem stems from the fact that when a travel agent books a reservation, there is no phone number actually tied to the reservation itself. Perhaps if the clients phone number was attached to the reservation, it would allow online adr booking. Just a thought - people always seem to overlook the simple solutions.

I believe when a travel agen makes a reservation, it gets linked to that agency's ARC or IATA number. I don't know exactly what those stand for, but they are basically an electronic accounting identifiers for all travel agency.
That's how places like Disney, send commissions to the agency. (like elctonic banking)

The agency phone number should be associated to that ID number as well.

I don't know if by adding another phone number, it would allow someone at that phone to make changes to ADR or not. The reservation may be linked to the agency until they officially release it.

Well when I call in for my clients then I give Disney my client's phone number and not our office #. Disney askes for the clients reservation # to start with and then the contact # later.

Hope that helps.

Has anyone been able to put in a celebration (i.e. anniversary or birthday) into their reservation and having it stick? I put in all that information, but when I go back to look, there's no note of our anniversary anymore. I was wondering if it's just me, or if it's a problem for everyone?

I'm hoping it's there and we just can't see it.....Kind of like when people have gotten blank emails confirming their ADR's and they really are there.... I'll probably call when I'm all done though just to reconfirm everything and doublecheck the celebrations.....

Unfortunately there is not. When a TA builds a resort reservation online on the TA site or calls into Disney room reservations there is NOWHERE to enter a guest phone number. I have tried everything I know and I have spoken with many cm's including guest service and there isn't any way to enter the guest phone number when building the resort reservation. They know this is the problem and are working on fixing it.

When I make ADR's for guests I do use the guest phone number but when doing a resort reservation there isn't a spot to enter the guest phone number and that is what the online dining is lookign for the resort reservation and the guest phone number. I have tried pulling it up for guests using our agency phone number and leaving it blank but neither option works.

What twaddle!!! Online ADRs are for anyone with an internet connection!

The onsite +10 days option may be a different question though, as I can't remember if bookings via Disney UK issue a standard WDW 12-digit confirmation number or not; I don't think that they do, as Disney UK act almost in the capacity of a Travel Agent rather than as part of WDW directly (for example, Disney UK cannot book five people to stay in one room at Port Orleans Riverside as their contracts do not support this).

Andre

It's the +10 bit lots of UK customers are having trouble with. Disney UK issue a shorter confirmation number. Some of us (myself included) have been able to get hold of the corresponding US reservation number (some have not been able to). However the website still does not let us retrieve our reservations. Disney have said that it's for US customers only. Hopefully that's not true and it's just a temporary glitch like for DVC-ers.

There's a thread on the UK trip planning boards where we are collectively knocking our heads against a fibreglass brick wall.

It sounds somewhat hit or miss on the online ADR. I am a little nervous as I book my ADR's tomorrow morning.

I can not pull up 10 days out is this for TA's only?:confused3

I am looking from inside my ressie to book dinning and nothing.

Wow :scared1: I can't believe the phone call I've just had with WDW customer service.

I'm eligible to do my ADR's on Saturday June 27th and want to try the online system, so after reading all the posts on this thread, I decided to check what phone number was in the WDW system.

CSR wouldn't check for me :confused3

She said I should just call in instead

I also wanted to upgrade my tickets from 5 to 6 days.
She said.... Do it at the park window when you get here and basically didn't want to help me at all :rolleyes1

Seems like some WDW CM's on the phones need some customer service training!

It cost me a long distance call from Canada and I didn't get anything I wanted accomplished!

OK, Vent over ;)

I am so sorry. I have had good luck with my CM's this trip. When I added a night I had the right # of days just the wrong nights. The gentleman was most helpful. This morning after an hour wait to do my ADR the gentleman that helped me was very nice. He tryied real hard to get me into Tusker House for Breakfast during my trip but could not find anything. He told me to keep checking on online daily as one may open up.

I just wish I could see 90 + 10 on line:rolleyes1

So you arrive the same day I do...Sept. 25! Where are you staying?

No, sorry this was a cash reservation. I am not staying on points in September, the free dining deal is too good to pass up!!

Are there still people out there that can't retrieve their reservations to open their 90 + 10 window?? I posted a little back that I spoke with Tech Support and they can't figure out why the reservation does not retrieve (frustrating).
There is nothing they can do about it, so I'm out of luck for now but can't stop thinking about it. So I went back to my reservation confirmation that I got in the mail and noticed that my phone # had a letter on it. So I tried the phone # with the letter attached, and it did not work, but something different DID happen...Instead of saying "cannot retrieve reservation" it said "invalid phone number". (In red)
Has anyone else seen this?

Thats when you should have asked for her name and reported her. I don't tolerate people who blatantly ignore doing their job. :confused3 I'd be livid too if I had to call long distance!

Hi, I have to make ADR's tomorrow. Is an online ADR "yours" as soon as it goes in your cart, or when you check out? For example, if you take too long setting up all the ressies in your cart, can you lose some to other people or are they temporarily "held" for you until you finish with checkout? Thanks.

OK, never mind...I called once again and once again was told my reservation has a system glitch and until they get all the kinks worked out, there's nothing they can do...:confused3So, just know there are glitches and it may not work out for everyone (this is nothing to do with TAs or DVC). So, if you can make your ADRs online and be able to tweak, be happy!
I'm a little bummed...
