Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

I have not used the site to make reservations yet but does it prevent people from making 2 reservations at 2 different resturants at the same time? I can see people over booking themselves (and taking reservations from others) and them cancelling later when the date gets closer.

Any insite?

That's becoming my fear too, more and more. I'm just hoping that they were holding tables back (thus explaining all the problems everyone was having getting reservations the first few weeks of free dining) for the release of the online system. I hope. ;)

We are on the phone. It is a mess the first 2 times when it crashed the reservations did go through. I have 3 for Ahershus, 2 Cali Grill, 5-6 CP. I am trying to get the extras deleted without losing what I want.

I hear you! I made mine online and a system error occurred in the process. I assumed I got nothing. So, I did it again. Then I called. The 1st CM said that somehow I had 3 reservations booked for nearly all of my restaurants (some weren't even the same times!) She cleared some thing up for me, but something was wrong with the system and I had to stay double booked on one and to call back later. I called back an hour later. The 2nd CM had pull them up under my reservation number either. She used my name. Nothing came up. I had to give her each of my confirmation #'s for her to find them. When she did, I still had 2-3 reservations for each restaurant with some still at varying times. 1/2 were under my husband's name (who was at work and certainly doesn't get involved in the planning) and 1/2 were under mine. It took nearly an hour with the 2nd CM b/c once her computer froze and then she had to seek a manager b/c the system had created such a mess. It seems like I am now ok, but I thought so the 1st time. I am going to call a 3rd time in a few minutes to make sure. Good luck! With persistance, I am sure that you can get this mess fixed.

Do you think they hold back ressies for Concierge level guests??

I mean that they might hold them based on anticipated demand for some restaurants?

Just a thought...:confused3

I am just hoping that all this availability suddenly showing online is not another glitch! Can you imagine 500 families showing up at 6pm for dinner at Le Cellier

My thoughts exactly! I would rather have a castmember tell me it was not available by phone and pick an alternative dining spot than show up and find out that I had no reservation due to a glitch and false availability! I am going to be watching to see what happens with those booked online reporting back in September to decide how I will book my holiday ADRS.

I made a ADR for Kona cafe and had no trouble filling everything out. I received my confirmation email as well.

I read of some people having issues so I thought I would go in a pull up the ADR using the info on the email. No luck. It said that I had put in the wrong number. Well I tried a 1/2 dozen times to no avail. I guess I should call?

I made all mine on the phone just before online and I am glad !! I don't trust this new system yet!! Question can you check your ressies on line!!?????? So far everything I checked for availability at different times have not been available so I am gonna stick with what I have !! Most are fine I just want to add people to my Coral Reef ressie and no luck right now !!

You can pull up your dining reservations on-line using your ADR numbers and phone number. I made all my ADRs on the phone before the on-line system was available to the public and can see all of them. Actually I had been trying to get a later lunch or early dinner at 50s PT on-line for the last few weeks with no lunch. However today I finally had a later lunch come up as available and I was able to book that on-line and then cancel my earlier reservation for that day.

For the on-line reservation-next to the confirmation -How do you put in your phone # ?

Do you put 123-45-6789 OR 123456789 ?????????

Tomorrow is my 90 day!!! Wish me luck!!!!!!

When I made my reservations this morning, I used 123-456-7890. Then when I went to look them up later online to confirm, I used 1234567890 and it worked fine. So I'm not sure if it makes a difference.

No they don't because if a Club Level guest was using their resorts IPO department to make their ADR's, they still use the same dining systems as everyone else when making ADR's. The only difference is if a location was sold out the IPO Cast Members would keep keep checking to see if an ADR time becomes available or they would see if they want a different restaurant of equal value.

Also this past December while I was staying Club Level at the Contemporary on the Atrium Club floor I asked if there were any lunch ADR's available at the Magic Kingdom at Liberty Tree Tavern, The Plaza or Tony's Town Square and when the Cast Member looked into the computer she told me nothing was available.

I still can't get in using my conformation #. I have tried every phone number and even old ones that may still be in the system.

I did make some but now they aren't hooked on to my stay and don't know if that is a problem.

Same thing happened to me but when I called they were there, but I don't think they are hooked up to the room and don't know if they need to be.

Not sure if this question has been asked or not, but what about those of us staying at the Swan/Dolphin? Or any other "offsite" resort? Can we use the online system? If so, I'm assuming you can't use the 90 + 10 rule (although 3 years ago, the dining reservation person let me book all my vacation dining reservations at the 90 + 10 day mark....even though I had read you could not do that before I called). Thanks! :)

You know this system may just make ressies more difficult than ever. I mean if people can make reservations and cancel over and over, won't that just mess things up royally? Now people can change things every day if they wish, heck every hour!
I'm thinking that they should put some sort of stipulation to canceling online ressies. Maybe you would have to call to cancel or something?
I don't know. What is everyone else thinking? The fact that whole time slots are opening up when there was nothing is a little scary!:scared:

I feel people will be more willing to cancel ADR's that they are not using now because it is easier than waiting on the phone to cancel a ADR.

Plus if that are canceling that ADR it opens up for someone else.

i'm starting to wonder if i should just call in tomorrow morning instead of trying online, i dont want double bookings, missing ressie numbers, etc...

I'm having trouble with the 90+10 I can only see up until 9/18...maybe i'm miscalculating but how do I see 100 days out?

I don't think that it would be a good idea to make it harder for people to cancel ADRs that they don't need. I just booked a better time for my 50s PT lunch on-line, it was so easy/convenient to go ahead and cancel the other ADR that I no longer needed.
