Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

My husband just informed me that he cannot make our october vacation. Is there a way to cancel on-line ADR's online or do I have to call to cancel?

Thanks

At the top of the Disney Resturants page where you book your dining there is a brown suitcase, MY Disney Vacation.

Hover mouse over that an options will open up, click on dining reservations

You will put in your dining ADR # and phone number associated with ADR #. The number you put in when you booked the ADR online at check out. If you did this over the phone it may be the phone # associated with your resort ressie.

You ADR will display and will have the option to cancel.

Are you sure you want to cancel now or wait and see if things change a little. What are you canceling? You may give people a heads up to what you have. Sorry you have to cancel, here is a hug for a future trip to be planned

HTH.

Ok how about this: there are 3 of us going, myself, DH and DD17. In my practicing I've been putting her as a child, age 17. To save .378 seconds maybe it would be better to just say 3 adults....

We will be doing a buffet or two but otherwise nothing where it makes a difference in her age--she is on the dxdp with us, as an adult...

I found that you can not cancel Cinderella's castle or the princess breakfast in Norway without calling. (Inadvertently made reservations for the wrong day):confused3

That's correct! Any ADR that you made that requires a Credit Card hold, you need to phone to cancel.

I'm sure this has been asked & answered in the preceding 160+ pages but I am @ work secretly on the DIS. If we have 2 separate ressie #'s, can I make the dining under just 1 ressie # to save time & be assured we are all dining together. We are only a party of 6 total. TIA

I'm going with DS 16. We made our initial ADR's before online was available, and even though each time they asked for my package number and confirmed everything, still most of those reservations show up now online as simply 2 adults. Which is confusing because I added his birthday celebration to one of them so it shows two adults celebrating his 16th birthday! :rotfl:

But I made one ADR for 2 adults, him and a 9 year old (meeting another DIS'er) and that one shows that way (2 adults, a 16 YO, and a 9 YO). We're meeting someone else though and we'll have 3 adults, then 16, 11, and 7 year olds and it comes up as 5 adults, 1 child. Any I've made since then online I've put in correctly, but I agree, it's a hassle checking the age box each time. I think if I were reserving for the first 90 day out time, I'd just go with 3 adults in your case. Nothing I can see it making a difference for. Obviously different if they were 7 instead of 17 and it was a prepay!

If you're making DxDP reservations, that's probably a lot of them and those .378 seconds would add up! :rotfl2:

Yes you can.

No problems here, even with a AAA reservation - got most of what I wanted. Reevaluating the day we wanted Le Cellier. Going back to bed to think about it later!:goodvibes

Here is my experience from Sunday:

I was online at 6:01. I am staying our first 4 nights on points at BWV. My DVC ressie pulled up just fine and I was able to get all the ressies I wanted at the times I wanted with no issues. I even got CP at 5:30 on the night of our Halloween Party. It was all very perfect.

The trouble came when I went to book the last 3 nights of our trip. Because it was a split ressie it wouldnt let me book the second part of the trip. I called. At first the cast member wasnt going to help me. She just kept telling me to call back at 90 days from the second ressie to which I replied why am I staying on property if I dont have the perks? I asked to speak to a manager because I insisted there was a way to book those days. At that point she decided she was probably going to have a complaint made about her so she just booked it for me. She knew a manager would do it so she decided to do it herself but her attitude was sour from the moment she said hello. Oh well. I stand by my arguement that I am a Disney guest for 8 days regardless of where I sleep.

End result is I got everything and even with a DVC confirm # I was able to book online.

She probably was not happy that you were basically threatening her with going over her head when she was, I believe, correct. Your 2 ressies are in fact two different ressies. Your are aloud to make adr's up to a certain number of days past your initial reservations first day as long as they don't exceed your check out day. You should have been making the second ressies adr's from 90 days of that ressies first day. You may have been thinking of the 90+, but that would still only apply to the ressie involved. Just because they "can" do something, that doesn't mean it is the right way. Sorry, I feel for the cm, didn't make their day, I'm sure. Staying a total of 8 days does not entitle you to different rules. Hope this doesn't sound mean, not intended to be. :goodvibes

Has anyone else not been able to get the +10 online today?
Every other day has been fine, but today I'm just getting 90 coming up....

Our 90 day mark is Sunday and I have a few questions after poking around the site a bit.

1) Should you set up a login to WDW's site or just go with retrieving your reservation? Or is there a way to sign up and link your reservation to your log in account?

2) When you select a restaurant to make an ADR, do you have to fill in the security phrase at the bottom for each ADR you make? So if you're making 15 ADRs you'll end up typing in 15 different security phrases?

3) Do you have to click the number of guests for each restaurant (I'm assuming yes on this)?

Thanks

Forgot one...

4) Is there a way to pull up all ADRs like Dining or a desk CM could do once you have mulitple reservations? I see the retrieve a reservation, but I don't know if that would pull up all 15 from one confirmation# or not.

Thanks

1--you can sign up for an acct and then when you retrieve your ressie info it'll link the two for you. You can go ahead and make an acct and then the day you make your ADRs just log in and pull up your ressie info.

2--yup, you'll end up typing in those funny squigly words for every single ADR. Luckily they're not too hard to read like some other sites.

3--Yup, you gotta plug in how many people for every restaurant.

4--I think this is a real pain in the butt.....you have to plug in each ressie # individually for each ADR. I wish you could log in and click dining ADRs and they all would come up....but nope. You need to type in each and every ressie # for that particular restaurant to come up.

#5 (can't believe I forgot this earlier) - I think I read that once you put an ADR in your cart, you've locked that ADR (unless your session times out), correct? So if it takes you 10 minutes to add all of your ADRs into your cart, but you put your #1 priority/most difficult one in your cart 1st thing - that first ADR was locked in at 6:00 EST and not at 6:10EST when you check out?

Thanks (again)

I know this is here somewhere, in the past 90+10 was 90+10+1, wasn't it? Because it was 90+10 BEFORE check in. Is this still true? Is the old online PS calculator still good?

I hope that question makes sense. I just changed my dates and if it is 90+10+1 I need to set my alarm for tomorrow...

ETA: Never mind, I found it reading back. It seems that the answer is the old PS calculator is still good, the +1 part is besides the point, I'll trust the calculator, it has never failed me before.
