Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

Well... I just re-booked all of my August ADRs online (with the exception of Citricos since it's not online yet) and got as good or even better times than I originally got by calling at my 90 day mark. Being the OCD person that I am, I called to verify each online ADR I just made, even though I could see it right there on my monitor. The big thing I wanted to know was if each reservation was for one table - and NOT a reservation for split tables. (I've had trouble booking for a party of 5 & 6 :confused3 when I call.) Each online ADR checked out as far as the CM could tell and they were all there on his screen and correct. :thumbsup2 So, now I'm going to call back and cancel the original reservations that I made when I called last month. I like having online reservations at my fingertips and LOVE the email confirmations! I don't know why they couldn't have done that before.

Have fun with Online ADRs! I know I am! :goodvibes

I do hope the whole DVC reservation problem gets straightened out by the time I have to make our Holiday ADRs! :surfweb:

My wife spent the better part of 2 hours talking to MS about this.

First, they told her she was crazy....not joking, Crazy. That no such thing existed.

I sent her along the instructions on how to get to the dining area on WDW.com.

DW called back, and THIS cm knew about the new system. And after my wife led her (the CM) through the process, and demonstrated the issue, she was stumped...and concerned.

She's let IT know (who, at first, told her that the system had only been brought up to trial it and then turned off...which obviously it hadn't/hasn't), and they were stumped.

She then tried to contact the CM in charge of the project and....they'd gone home early "not feeling well".

The CM at MS is going to do further research and get back to us tomorrow. She suggested that, if you're a DVC member trying to make ADR's ON your 90 day mark, and your confirmation number doesn't work, to call MS.

Of course, for you to find that out....you'd have to be on at 3 AM, try, fail, and then "lose" the 4 hour head start to the CRO guests who WILL be able to use the system. Not ideal, IMHO.

Thought of another question - has anyone been able to pull up ADR's that they made by phone if they had a split stay? The CM last Friday let me book for my 90+10 even though we were only at CR for two nights before we moved to AKV.

I've also noticed that on the website it only pulls up our final ressie after DVC at AKL, and not the first one for CR...maybe that's the problem? :confused3

Pilferk - let us know what you find out...that would be horrible for DVC members if they don't get this fixed!

I am confused. I booked my trip with a TA but was just able to make a dinner reservation on line for 9/13/09 and got a confirmation # for it. At no point in the process did the system ask me for a confirmation # for my hotel reservation.

I can't actually do my ADR's until 6/22 and was trying to see if I would be able to do it online.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks
S

ANYONE (resort guest or not) can make ADR's at 90 days...so simply to make an ADR within 90 days, you don't need anything.

BUT to make ADR's with 90+10 (ie: at 90 days from your arrival date, for up to 10 days after), you need an active resort reservation.

Hope that helps.

Ok,i havent done cindrellas royal table n years, and i know they want ther money now, but if i book online with my ressie linked, they know im on the dining planm, how will that work? Credit card to hold? or !!!!!!!!!!

I did this today. I put in the CC info and it went through as a $0.00 charge. I only ran into a problem when I tried to then cancel a CRT reservation that I made over the phone (it was a later time), and it wouldn't let me cancel. i could cancel Sci-Fi however, so I guess it had to do with the credit card hold? I guess I will have to phone that one in.

I've been using the online system all afternoon modifying some things (SUCCESSFULLY) for my trip that starts in ONE week! It's an awesome system - so far!!!

My cousin used to be a hostess at a Disney restaurant. Basically, your total # of people is at 4. You want it to be at 5. You're okay because when you get to the restaurant they can make the changes there easier than you can over the phone. If you can call, make the change first, THEN cancel your original ADR. If they don't have anything available, don't worry and walk in with your reservation for 4 with 5 people, the restaurant will be okay with it.

Thank you so much!! I was actually able to "rebook" 3 of the restaurants online, for basically the same times as I had before (actually got a better time for 'Ohana :yay:) The other three (CP, CM and Boma) don't have any availability for the day/time I want. I'll keep checking to see if I can rebook those, but otherwise I won't sweat it. I figure they'll have to realize I wouldn't book a ressie without one of my kids!

I haven't read everything in the past few pages, but are DVC members not able to use the online system with their reservations numbers? We still have to call? If so that is a bunch of (well you don't want me to say). :headache: It is more trouble being a DVC member than not being one and it should be the other way around.

DVC reservation numbers are currently NOT working....which means while we can book at 90 days, we can't get the 90+10 without directly calling the WDW Dine line.

Potentially, that gives CRO guests about a 4 hour (maybe 1 hour, depending on if the roll over time changes) head start on ADR's. Now, for most restaurants, I doubt that will be much of an issue. But for things like Cindy's, Le Cellier, Chef Mickey's...and especially during free dining....I suspect it's going to make a sizeable difference. Maybe not soon, since the system is new and it'll take a bit for the word to spread outside of the "disney community", but certainly coming up quick unless they find a fix.

I will. They promised a call back tomorrow. I also started a thread on the subject over in the DVC planning section, since this is sort of DVC specific.

One of the CM's my wife talked to insisted it was because the confirmation # was more than 90 days out...and would only be "valid" at the 90 day mark.

The other CM's didn't think it should much matter and, indeed, when we go to my wife's profile on the WDW site, and try to "validate" our confirmation number and add it to our itineraries....we get the exact same message. That doesn't surprise me....since I suspect that control is linked only to CRO. The problem is...the controls LOOK exactly the same. Granted, that doesn't mean they're linked to the same data stream, but I 1/2 suspect that they are.

The "issue" with beta testing this with TA's is that they NEVER deal with DVC members....so anything they're testing with would completely ignore that population set and set of reservation numbers.

Hmm... none of my phone-booked ADRs are showing up online using the confirmation numbers I got on the phone.

This is awesome - I don't even have any ADR's to make but I've been playing with the system just to check it out. I might have to schedule another meal just to be able to use this. I love being able to see all the available times!
How great for everyone approaching their 90 day window!

Thanks! Very much appreciated!!! within about 10 minutes did my ADR for Kona, which I was trying for, but not getting these last few weeks, and I am thrilled not to use my minutes of my cell phone!
U are great!

Ty, im booking tomorrow, so this is a blessing for me, but if all isnt well by 655 am ill be on the phone to fix the loose ends.

Right now my understanding is the 90 days plus 10 can only be booked by calling, that includes everyone.

This is very exciting!! Does anyone know what time you can book? Does it start at 12:01am on your 90 day mark?
Thanks

I just went in to play with it, I booked my ADR's this a.m. before knowing about this, and it told me that the URL wasn't correct and that I had to call ...did anyone get this message? What am I doing wrong? Thanks!!:goodvibes
