Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

Ok,i havent done cindrellas royal table n years, and i know they want ther money now, but if i book online with my ressie linked, they know im on the dining planm, how will that work? Credit card to hold? or !!!!!!!!!!

Now I'm freaked out! I went on to check my dining reservations (which I made on Sunday, 6/7 - 90 days from our arrival date). I'm a little OCD, so when I realized that these could be retrieved, I had to see them ;)

Only, they're not correct :scared1: We are a party of 5 - 2 adults and 3 children. One of my reservations is listed as 1 adult and 3 children, and the rest were 2 adults, 2 children.:sad2: Should I be concerned about this? I don't know how strict they are about party size. I guess I should call, or I'll be nervous...

My cousin used to be a hostess at a Disney restaurant. Basically, your total # of people is at 4. You want it to be at 5. You're okay because when you get to the restaurant they can make the changes there easier than you can over the phone. If you can call, make the change first, THEN cancel your original ADR. If they don't have anything available, don't worry and walk in with your reservation for 4 with 5 people, the restaurant will be okay with it.

I am in the UK and can't even get onto the US website to book!!! Everytime it keeps directing me back to the UK website automatically and you can't do the online reservations on the UK site!!

Has anyone in the UK found a way round this!!!?!

Their auto-redirect is a real pain, and is still seriously broken for any bookmarked links. You can get to the US home page via this link: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/?forceDomestic=true, and after you've done that once in a session you can then get to other bookmarked links without it throwing you back to the UK homepage.

No, you can enter your reservation number when you go to book the first restaurant--it's right above where you choose the date/time.

Unless you have the problem I do-I can't pull up my ressie online. I booked it myself, on the phone, in April. Disney is supposed to be working on the problem. Meanwhile I can't book using the 90+10 option. Urghhhh!:confused3

Tried again and I can't get either my resort, DVC or dining reservations that I already made to come up :headache:

I think I've tried my phone number every way, but what is everyone putting in? 555-555-1234 or no dashes?

Thanks!

So those of us that will have resort reservations will be able to make our reservations using the 90+10 rule....that I understand from the above discussion......but what if we want a hard to get dining location, say for instance Le Cellier on the 9th day of our trip. Can that reservation be done first? Will it allow us to click on dates not 90 days from the date we are booking? If so, what do we need to do to allow us to do this?

In my "testing" today I was only able to click on 90 days from today since I do not have a reservation number until my stay in October.

Thanks!

If you have a resort reservation #, the system will unlock the 10 days after the 90 from today's date. Without the #, you will not be able to do so, which is what you encountered.

Thanks for your quick response...that is exactly what I wanted to hear.:cool1:

So am I reading this right that so far:

* DVC members can not book online using the 90+10 because the online system does not recognize the DVC resort ressie number?

* It is possible for people to double book (or more) dining ressies?

TIA

So did this launch at midnight or what? If so, could this be the reason I got NONE of my #1 picks at the times I wanted? What are the chances of me being able to switch for better times by Sept?

I would definitely, definitely go online now and try to change some times. I was amazed at how many more options seemed to be on there today than when I booked a week ago. Good luck!

I am sure this has been asked 1000 times today, but where on Disney's website can you find ADR's? I have been looking. I found something I thought was the right page, I put my Primary Reservation number and nothing is coming up. Help!

My 90 day window opened up on Sunday, so I made ADRs then over the phone for my trip, but played around on the online dining site this afternoon and was able to add an additional Ohana breakfast near the end of my trip at the time I wanted, and was also able to change two of my dinner reservations for times that work better for me. :thumbsup2 Putting in my confirmation numbers and phone number to get all of the ADRs I had made on Sunday to show up on one page was also a breeze after following directions someone posted earlier in this thread (thanks! ;)). From there it was very easy to cancel the ADRs for the dinners that I had changed online. Overall, I think this new online system is fantastic! Well, that is for people who have booked regular resort stays through Disney. I do hope Disney figures out a way soon for people booked DVC and through TAs to take advantage of the new online system, too. :goodvibes

This is great news! :cool1: Good luck to all needing ADR's in the near future - it's gonna be a while before I get to try out the online booking for myself. :sad2:

You don't put in your primary (room) reservation. You put in your dining confirmation number for that one ADR plus phone number. I could not get my confirmation numbers to come up for my August trip and I called and asked what phone number was associated with that confirmation number and was told it was blank, so can't really check any of my August ADRs.

I don't see us ever using the system for 90+10 since DVC reservations are not recognized, but even my cash reservations won't come up either. I see it as a nice tool for making some changes and additions, but not the first place I call for my 90+10 unless the system gets tweaked to cover us DVC members.

I haven't read everything in the past few pages, but are DVC members not able to use the online system with their reservations numbers? We still have to call? If so that is a bunch of (well you don't want me to say). :headache: It is more trouble being a DVC member than not being one and it should be the other way around.

Exactly! I am just sick over this. I have 17 reservations to make for our trip and this just upsets me so. I might book with Disney and cancel with my TA if needed but I do not want to do that because she has already worked hard for me!

I was just on the phone with Disney asking a question about something else and brought up the concerns of people that booked through a TA and not being able to do the 90+10 themselves online. The cm I was speaking with said that they are aware of this problem and are working on a solution.

I have booked a few trips with the same agency you are booked through and my TA has always done my ADR's for me and I have never had a problem.

Silly question, can you make online dining reservations 24 hours a day? So at 12:00 am on my 90+10 day can I make them or do I need to wait until 7am?

Also can you make credit card hold reservations online like Cali Grill and Cindy's Castle?

Is there any reason everyone shouldn't just do this:

Make you real reservation, say 7 days arriving October 5th and leaving October 12th. But you want to get prime dining reservations for October 11th, your last say in the parks. So you create a separate vacation with Disney for October 1st through October 11th, a fake 10 day stay. You put the $200 down and get a reservation number.

Instead of having to wait until 90 days before October 5th (when you actually arrive), you only have to wait until 90 days before October 1st (when your fake vacation starts) to make your October 11th dining reservations.

A week later, you call Disney back and cancel your fake vacation and get the $200 back, and keep your dining reservation numbers.

What is the correct format for entering your phone number? Is it with dashes or spaces or none of the above, just a string of numbers? TIA
