Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

Good morning everyone, I was able to get 9 out of the 10 ADR's I needed this a.m. How did everyone else do?

Oh, and I was checking out by 6:30 east coast time, by the way, to those of you on the phones now! With checkout and adding celebrations it took another 20 min. Smooth as silk!

i have no idea what to book for this night. I can get Rose and Crown and I can get Narcoosees. Opposite ends of the scale but they both look ok. We were after Garden Grill. Its not a park day for us. We were going to Typhoon Lagoon that day.

I think Narcoossees sounds perfect after a day at the water park. This is exactly what we did on our last trip - stayed at TL 'til about 4:00ish, returned to resort to clean up, and had dinner at Narcoossees around 7:30 p.m. You'll love Narcoossees!

Just checking in to see how everyone did the morning w/ their online booking. After seeing how booked up the 'good' places are, I spent a good party of yesterday studying how I could re-arrange all my days so I could be pretty flexible when I have my 90 day window tmr.

Lacy1101....I know you're up, saw your post just mins before 6. It's past 7 now and you haven't posted how it went for you. Makes me think not so well and maybe you have to call. Actually, even if tmr pans out well for me online I still have to call because I want the Wonderland Tea Party and they're not booking that online.

Just had the WORST CM on the phone. She was half awake (come on, I'm the one calling from the west coast!)

First she told me she couldn't even check for the F! package, then after explaining it for 10 minutes she said nothing was available.

Back on the phone, hopefully to get a more helpful CM. So happy I only need to make one phone ADR.

Just got off the phone with the best CM ever. Booked all 10 day with no problems and got everything I wanted within 30 min. He did tell me that there we some problems this morning with the +10 for some people....not sure what that was about. Now I can go back to bed.

The good & the bad ~ we did get everything we wanted!
Except 1 ~ and it's CRT!

Can I still be sad? It's such a hard 1 to pick up after the fact because of the cc. And it's DHs b-day, so i worked the whole day around it. The funny thing is all week while i was just playing it came up, so I didn't race to it at 6.

Off to the OCT wanted boards for me.

Okay, after getting suggestions from fellow DISers to book the popular ADRS toward the end of my trip instead of the beginning, I reworked my ADR schedule last night and actually got everything I asked for - first try! Here's what I got:

Friday, 10/02 - HDDR, 9:30 p.m.
Saturday, 10/03 - Kona, 5:25 p.m.
Sunday, 10/04 - Narcoossees, 7:55 p.m.
Monday, 10/05 - Garden Grill, 5:15 p.m.
Tuesday, 10/06 - 50s PT Cafe, 6:55 p.m.
Wednesday, 10/07 - 'Ohana, 7:15 p.m.
Friday, 10/09 - Chef Mickey's, 8:15 p.m.
Saturday, 10/10 - WCC, 7:30 p.m.

The only one I'm a little concerned about is HDDR at 9:30 p.m. I asked for the 9:30 p.m. show so I can get Tier 1 on the DDP. That's our arrival day, though. We'll be arriving around 2-3:00 p.m. after driving 6 hours that morning, and 6 hours the night before (we're stopping half way for the night-probably get in bed around 10:00 p.m.). Are we going to be too tired to enjoy it? I also really want to be at MK rope drop the next morning (never done rope drop before). Would Chef Mickey's at 9:10 p.m. be a better choice?

I'll just have to play around with it for a while and see if I can come up with another plan. I'm really pleased with everything else!

As you can see from my post above, it went really well! I was pleasantly surprised to get everything I asked for. Now to decide if I asked for the right stuff!

I strongly advise to go with other DISers suggestions and book the most popular ADRS toward the end of your trip. It saved alot of time and frustration for me, I'm sure. The two I was most worried about were 'Ohana and Chef Mickey's. I asked for 'Ohana for the 6th day of our trip and Chef Mickey's for the 8th day of our trip. Worked like a charm!

Yes, you can be sad - just like I'm second guessing my decision to book HDDR at 9:30 p.m. on our arrival date. DH is probably gonna kill me! Just keep checking . . .

I actually requested that time as we're doing the evening EMH at AK that night (it ends at 8:00 p.m.). I'll log on and check for earlier times for you. Be back in a minute . . .

I can't make online reservations until later this month for my October trip but I've been looking around at the site to practice. Can anyone tell me if there is any reason that I'd want to disassociate my dining reservation from my DVC vacation reservation? I'm not sure what the "disassociate" button would be used for...

Well - after getting up at 5:00 AM Texas time - I got everything I wanted except our arrival night when I wanted a hotel meal at either 1900 Park Fare, O'hana or Chef Mickey - there was one 9:05 at Chef Mickey - but it was too late for me and getting up the next day - plus after reading the reviews I skipped. Obviously everyone else 10 days ahead of us got them!

I booked an Epcot meal for the fun of it and may scratch my hotel pool and dinner day.

We did get a CRT - just had to change plans on my day to visit.

I also have a tentative ressie at 1900 Park Fare - but it is interfering with another days plans....

The online system worked really well - and then I called a CM at 7:00 AM ET and she could not get anything either that I wanted for arrival date. Guess we will keep trying....for arrival date.

Going back to bed now. Happy 4th of July!

After many deep breaths and posting for comfort. I rearranged just a little & got Everything we want!!!

Lacy1101 is right ~ have toughest adrs as close to end of vac as possible.

Lacy1101 did you ck for an earlier HDDR? I had a 9:30 Ohana & ended up w/7p that came up later.

Can anyone tell me if 1900 PF is available for an early dinner for 6 october at this stage? We are offsite for this part of our stay (following 7nights AK and cruise) and it is DD's birthday. I just wanted to know if I should be looking at several different options for this night. I know MBYBQ was fully booked a week before I was able to book for the night I originally wanted. And i couldn't get it for the following Thursday. I've got one more option for that one which is 3 October.

Good news! When I did a search for date range of October 8-9 for 7:15 p.m., party of 4 (wasn't sure how many you have), it gave me 6:55 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on the 8th, and 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on the 9th.

Do you want me to search for a different party size or other times?

About asking for an earlier time...you answered that question for me somewhere else and for that I thank you. One of those nights is our MNSSHP night and I'd like a dinner around 5/5:30 to make sure we get to the park by 7. Even though those time slots you told me about may be gone when I try for them tmr at 6am, you've given me some peace of mind, so maybe I can get through this beautiful 4th of July w/o so much obsessing!

Happy 4th everyone! I'll be up late w/ the fireworks and all and then up bright and early.....the day I've been waiting MONTHS for!!

My family is going to WDW from 10/14 - 10/21. We have 2 reservations (me, DH, DD, DS on one and FIL and MIL on other). I am doing all the planning and would like to book the ADR's online. I have been able to retrieve my reservation and try the process. But, will it actually let me book my ADR's for 6 even though my confirmation number is for 4? or do I have to get the confirmation for my in-laws and book theirs separately as parties of 2? Thanks from a newbie!

Also, the reservations I can look at now look pretty full - is that because of FD? Being a newbie, I scheduled out my ideal for where/when I wanted to go places before read all the good tips on the board. I guess I will take what I can get and then try to be flexible on all the others.

Yes, you will be able to make your reservation for 6 even though your room reservation is for four.

Free Dining does fill up restaurants, so that could be why you aren't seeing much available right now.
