online adr vrs calling

For those who have used the online reservation system, is it user friendly? Next week will be my first time ever to make ADR's and I was trying to figure out which way would be the easiest. Thanks!
 
I like it a lot better than calling! You may have to play around with it alittle before you call.I like being able to check and see if any of the times I want opened up.

I recommend getting on and playing with it before you can actually made resservations for your dates. It takes a little bit to understand how it works. Personally I liked it a lot because it gives you other options if your first choice isn't available. But you need to figure it out and be ready to make those reservations. :thumbsup2 I think you can get someone great to help you on the phone but now and then you may not get someone that gets what you are wanting. Mostly I have had good luck on the phone, but I really love the online system.
 
If I were making reservations for the first time (rather than modifying), I think I'd do them online. I love how swift it is to do them online. I love that I can play with the times to get as close to exactly what I want as possible.

Online wasn't available when I started making ADRs, so now I only use the online to find what I want to modify, and then I end up calling to have the CM modify for me.
 

I really like the online . Just tonight I modified the times on 4 different reservatioins. I make the new one then go to my past reservation and cancel it. VERY EASY to use :thumbsup2
 
I tried it yesterday and it wouldn't work for me. I put in my reservation number and tried a million phone numbers and it didn't take it. I just called and was done with it.
 
This is my first time doing any of this - I've never been to Disney, let alone plan it. I used the online ADR just this past Tuesday and found it quite easy. My first goal was to get a reservation for CRT and I got it! Additionally, online is available 1 hour before the phones open up. I've already been back online to cancel a reservation and will probably do a little modifying before we leave.
 
I definitely recommend the online system - it really worked great for me. I started using the online system at 6:00am EST and was finished in about 15 minutes. But one of my reservations (tea at the GF) I had to call for - so at 7:00am I called and was on hold for an hour and 5 minutes before anyone answered. I got the reservation, but the online system worked much better. So if I had a choice, I'd avoid the phone!

If you do that be careful what button you press I managed to get myself a booking for 2 days before I arrive, I did cancel it though. After fighting a bit I managed to get my booking retreived and booked all my reservations. Though no matter what time I put in couldn't get Le Cellier or Tusker House adrs.
 
Online no long distance no waits you can do it as often as you like, I would play around with it first too. I made all my Sept ADRs online I couldnt get times and places I wanted first so I booked what I could live with but I went back several times a day and was able to change things to the way I wanted them!
 
Since on line starts at 6:00 am I go with that. It's pretty easy to work. Good Luck:thumbsup2

Thanks for all the responses! It looks like the online system has been a hit. Since like many of you mentioned, the online booking starts an hour earlier, I will try that first. Then, I can always call in if needed.

with the on-line system. Got everything I wanted at great times but it would not let me confirm. Kept kicking me out. So I kept going back in, getting less and less of the times I really wanted and then kicked out again. Happened 3 times so I finally called. Well, all three ressies at each restaurant I booked were showing! The CM cancelled the ones I didn't want but I still got an E-mail with all the wrong times confirmed. And I can't get them to come up on line. I've called twice since then to reconfirm.
