ONION HATERS unite!

Wow -- glad to see I'm not the only one -- onions, fresh or cooked in things are really hard on me. I can tolerate a few in tartar sauce (because I love it on fish and fries -- altho I still may regret the aftermath). I can use dried onion powder in chili beans and stew, with fewer residual effects. And hate the smell when someone else is eating, or has eaten, them. EEEEWWWWW!

Am hoping that SwedishMeatball checks back on this thread -- how do you outwit the WDW toilets (between cleaning up after other people, and trying to use the toilet before it flushes again and again -- that's one of my unfavorite things about WDW trips [fortunately there aren't too many unfavorite things). And, what year is your super Mustang (mine is a 1968, pink body, black vinyl hardtop; I've never been able to memorize the subtle differences to tell the years apart, but I think your is earlier? Mine was my Mom's second one -- her first one was white with red interior). Currently in Asheville, NC.

I hate hae HATE onions!!!

Cooked onions, that is. I hate the smell, the texture, everything about them...fried, and especially boiled......YUCKKK!!!

However, I like raw onions very much. I love them in (freshly made) mexican salsa, in hamburgers, etc.

But don't ever try to sneak a meal with a cooked, slimy, soft onion in it, because you will be sorry.....it would fly out of my sistem then and there....

YUCK.

I actually make my own onion free salsa. It's the only salsa I will eat.

I don't do onions in any way, shape or form. Hate garlic...don't do tomatoes when I can bite into a piece of one...no bell peppers either.

While we are on the subject...does anyone else hate cooked fruit?? I don't like any fruit that has been cooked...not apples, not bananas, not blueberries (I guess technically they are not fruits), not peaches...WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU COOK A FRUIT??? :confused3
How are blueberries NOT a fruit? :confused3

WOW! I didn't know there were so many of us! :grouphug:

This is a wonderful thread! I HATE onions and I have no one in my real life who understands this! My big three that I can't eat are onions, garlic, and peppers. My stomach will be sick all day if I accidently eat a little piece of any of those. I can eat small amounts of onion powder in food, but never a real piece of onion. I also agree that why does every single food MUST HAVE these items?? Just today, I ordered home fries and eggs at a restaurant, and the home fries were smothered in onions. :( Couldn't eat them. I only order burgers at Wendy's, since the onions are large and oval and easy to pull off.

Like others said, I can't eat spaghetti unless I make my own sauce. I can't eat sauce out of any jar because of peppers and onions are always in it. I use tomato paste and a pack of Spatini spices (completely ground up dried onion is OK with me) to make my own sauce. :)

I find it very difficult to eat out anymore because of onions and peppers!! At Disney, I have a very hard time finding sit-down restaurants with plain food options! Oh well, not much we can do - the onion already took over the world, it seems! :(

I don't mind cooked onions, but hate raw onions. What I really hate even more than onions is Bell or any sweet type of pepper  . I love hot peppers though.

I could not agree with you more. I can not stand onions and I also always have to check ingrediants or ask servers if there is onions in it.

About onions in Lean Cuisines...
I eat those every day for lunch and haven't really come across any where I notice onions. And I LOVE onions in my food. I am sure they are in there but those meals are SO cooked down that there's no way you would notice them even if they were in there. I promise!

I have heard onions are good for you and many people I know use it to cook to add extra flavor to their foods.. personally, I do not mind it...but my kids hate it...

I despise onions. Always have. If there is even one piece of onion in a dish, I can taste it. They make me gag. Seriously, I have to spit it out before I throw them up.

If an onion TOUCHES my food, it is game over.

Every restaraunt we go to, I have to ask if the dish has onions. Usually they do. I especially hate when a stray onion falls in my otherwise onion free food!

UGH!

I hate all vegetables/fruits that fall into the half-crunchy/half-chewy category:

Raw onions (I'll eat them in fried onion rings and sometimes in soup)
Raw Carrots (I'll eat them if they are completely soft)
Coconut (I'd rather gag than ever eat it at all)
Celery (I won't eat this in any state)
Radish (never)
Peppers (too spicy as well)

Any other fruit/vegetable that meets the same half-crunchy/half-chewy criteria not mentioned above are also banned from my plate without the express written consent of the NFL and CBS sports. :thumbsup2 :happytv:

I like the flavor of many of those vegetables, I just can't stand the texture. They just feel nasty in my mouth while chewing. So I don't mind if you cook my cheesesteak with onions, but don't put them in the bread with my steak. I enjoy onions in the crock pot with a roast, etc. but I won't put them on my plate.

I guess I consider berries an un-fruit. To me, they are different.

Another onion hater here! I thought I was the only one! If I see them in something I try removing them with a fork (don't want my fingers to smell of them). If there's just too many to remove, I just won't eat whatever it is. The odor of them makes me nauseous.

Is it just me, or does it seem that when people find out that you don't like onions, they try to force them or sneak them on you by putting them into everything? Sometimes I won't eat anything unless I make it myself and know that it's onion-free.

It's a conspiracy!
And I thought it was just me they were doing that to. :rotfl2:

Onions are of the devil. :sad2: (So are olives, mushrooms, peppers and tomatoes that are not ground up and served in ketchup or marinara sauce).

Onions rule!!!
The optimal dinner.
Appetizer. Bloomin Onion.
Soup. Onion, of course
Salad. Onion and Cuke. Hold the cuke.
entree. Pepper Steak with extra onions.
Side Onion Pie.
Desert. Onion Ice Cream. Yup. They really do make it.

Ahhhhh. Heaven.

Okay, we are banning you from writing any more dishes to this thread. ;) I'm sure we all just wretched! :crazy2: :rotfl2: It was like Bubba in Forest Gump talking about all the different ways to make shrimp!
