Arrived shortly after noon at MCO. Avis Preferred had the best (non-sketchy) rate on a minivan and we were off the jetway, luggage in hand and heading out of the airport within 30 minutes. Cant beat that.
Stopped by the home we rented (in Davenport, just west of WDW about 15 minute drive to the MK parking lot), then off to Publix just down the street for breakfast and snack items along with a case of water.
We were off to Downtown Disney for dinner.
Downtown Disney is a MESS. The drive that should have taken 20 minutes took over an hour. There is road construction plus parking construction forcing overflow parking in the Casting parking lot across the street which fills up as cast members continue to direct traffic in there.
Downtown Disney itself, especially Westside, is a maze of construction walls. Restaurant entrances are obscured, and queues extend out into the already limited walkways. Entertainment continues in these confined areas which makes getting around even more difficult.
If you go, dont go Saturday evening, their busiest time. We weren't thinking.
Tomorrow, the MK and an attempt to get on the Minetrain.
