I will never forget getting off the plane in Orlando the day before the DVC Member Cruise and finding out the news. It happened while we were flying down.

They and their families are in my prayers.

I can't believe it's been a year.

I remember turning the news on that morning and watching in horror as the events of that morning unfolded.

I pray that the families and friends of those brave souls can find peace.

I also pray that no more people are lost in our exploration of space.

But many of us can relate to that. Many said she was old and past her prime, still she only lived nearly a quarter of her design life. Columbia still had a great many missions ahead of her. She along with the crew had her life snuffed out in her prime. Just as her crew has Columbia has left us quite a legacy....hail Columbia."

"Their mission was almost complete, and we lost them so close to home. The men and women of the Columbia had journeyed more than six million miles and were minutes away from arrival and reunion. Just saw this in the superbowl website:

(Jan. 8, 2004) -- International star Josh Groban will honor the NASA Columbia crew with a performance of his new hit "You Raise Me Up" from his multi-platinum CD "Closer" at Super Bowl XXXVIII at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Sunday, Feb. 1. Groban, who will be accompanied by an 80 person local choir, will perform as part of the pregame show prior to Houston's own Beyoncé Knowles, who will be singing the National Anthem before the start of Super Bowl XXXVIII.

I can still hear the fighter jets taking off and flying over my house, which really isn't a strange occurance, but when I turned on the news and saw what was happening, I realized what a sad sound that was at that time.

I kept on hoping to hear those two sonic booms.

Praying for the family and friends of those brave souls of Columbia.
