Okay, #1 DH and I will be on the 3/10 Wonder. Our last trip to Nassau was all about the kids. So, what does 2 adults do in Nassau? We want to gamble a little at Atlantis, and possibly win enough to pay for a 7 nighter for the whole family. :shamrock: We just want to be able to wander around on our own, so what are some "must sees"?

Also, I've heard others mention watching the dolphins when you pull out of port. I would love that! :cloud9: Where is the best place to stand and what port is the best for dolphin watching?

Thanks guys. I don't know what I'd do without my DIS family

Wish I could be constructively helpful but most of my forays into Nassau have been disastrous. As for winning enough for a 7-day...I'll go conservative and suggest you not give your money to the casino and use it instead to take advantage of on-board discounts and put down a deposit on a cruise while on board...Then save save, save.

We spent some time just walking around the Atlantis...we are not gambles so we just fooled around putting some quarters in the slots...when our $20.00 (told you we were not big on gambling) we went back to the ship and enjoyed the peace and quiet of a virtually empty ship.

As far as the dolphins....I think that is hit or miss. We have sailed DCL 13 times, on all the different itineraries and only once did I happen to see a single dolphin playing in the water while docked at Port Canaveral just before we got off the ship.

Our one trip to Nassau, our kids opted to stay aboard in the oceaneers' lab. I was glad they did, because we were approached by a couple of seedy characters asking us to buy drugs. A quick no, and a turn back onto the more populated main street ended that!

We did visit the Del Sol shop (where everything changes colors), and our kids have enjoyed that in other ports. But watch your wallet, because the kids will want lots of color changing stuff, and it adds up quickly!

Beyond shopping, I'd just treat it as a day at sea.
