I'm sure this has been asked before, but i'm a newbie to flying (have only flown twice and both times were to the World). I'll be flying from New Orleans to Orlando via Southwest in December. Is there any disadvantages to booking the flights separately? Our arrival flight just went up, so I don't want to book that in hopes that it will go down, but our departure flight is a decent price, so I'm tempted to snag that before it goes up as well. Thanks for any help!

WN's pricing is based on one way trips, so you won't save any money booking a RT over a one way. Go ahead and book separately.

I got used to booking 2 one ways back in the good ol days when you could book then keep checking for a price drop or Ding. Eventually that would happen and we could use the credits toward future flights. It was so much easier if they were separate reservations, just made it easier to make changes.

It still can be done but it's rare to get a price drop or a Ding for that matter.
