I never thought I would eat at Le Cellier. I always read reports here on the DIS about it, and how great it is, and how pretty it is. Knowing that I was touring the World with a vegetarian, a steakhouse didn't seem like a high priority. And when I started booking ADRs in late October, Le Cellier was nonexistant. Then in early January...poof!
All of the sudden it was available all the time. Okay, cool...they have a veg entree, let's give it a whirl!
So we arrived to lunch a bit early and checked in. They were turning away anyone without an ADR. We did have to wait a bit past our ADR time, but that's not a big deal to me. All an ADR is to me is that I will get to eat at that restaurant that day. It's strange to me when people complain that they had to wait past their time. Anywho, back to the matter at hand...lunch!
Here is a nice picture from the waiting area:
Now I will apologize ahead of time that the food pictures are a bit dark. It's a dark restaurant, and we had close table neighbors, so we didn't want to blind them with our food picture taking.
I started with a smoothie, the Red Maple. It's raspberry puree and sprite. Delicious! Here's me with it:
Both mom and I decided to go a little crazy and order the lunch prix fixe menu. It included an appetizer, entree, and dessert for one price. I did this mostly because I wanted the SOUP! Duh. My appetizer was the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup.
I could have just eaten this and been happy. In fact, that's kinda how lunch played out. I don't usually eat big meals, so I inhaled the soup and could hardly eat my entree, lol. We'll get to that one in a minute.
For her appetizer, mom got the mixed field greens with white balsamic vinaigrette. She got it without the bleu cheese because she doesn't like it. It had very thinly sliced apples around the corners.
And for her entree, mom got the Sautéed Potato Gnocchi, "roasted butternut squash, apples, and maple sage butter with cranberry and pumpkin pesto". She loved it!!! It was her new favorite dish of the trip. She offered me a bite, but I was struggling to finish my own food so I didn't try it. It was another hit for her with the veggie dining!
I opted for the Le Cellier Houseburger, which I got without the mushrooms. It had cheddar, maple bbq sauce, pancetta, and crispy onion pieces on it, and came with fries and a pickle. Holy smokes:
To start, I gave mom the pickle. I despise pickles. I know, I'm strange, but that's okay! Next, the fries. YUM! Thick cut, very potato-y (yes, I can make up words
) fries. They were so good. Even when I got full, I still kept eating them. They got the mom stamp of approval too!
And the crowing glory: the burger. Wowzas! It was a steakburger, so it was super dense and juicy. I cut it in half to start because it was so big! It was messy to try and pick up to eat, so I ended up taking the bun off and cutting up the burger. I ate about half before I felt like I couldn't move anymore.
We decided it was a great idea to take our desserts to go since we were both full. The options with the prix fixe for dessert were creme brulee, canadian chocolate moose, or seasonal sorbet which was mandarin orange that day. Mom wanted the moose, and I was going to get it too, but something told me to get the sorbet, so I did.
I ended up eating it pretty soon after lunch though, because it was melting pretty fast in the heat. It was served with a little cookie/brittle type thing which was also delicious! The sorbet itself was refreshing and very good. It was half melted when I ate it, so I half ate it, half drank it. It was kind of like having another smoothie!
Mom got her moose all the way to Hollywood Studios before she decided to eat it. It took the boat ride over with us, so I have to show you the before and after pictures of the moose. The before was taken in Epcot when we were still in Canada, the after just inside the entrance of HS before it was eaten.

I guess mooses don't hold up in the heat too well either,
It was a melty moose, but it was still good. I tried one bite of the moose and it was good. Mom told me to eat more, but I'm not a huge chocolate fan, so I just ate the eyes and tongue of it. And I got a little silly with the moose tongue.
And of course I had to joke with mom that, as a vegetarian, she should not be eating a moose!
It's just not right! She laughed and ate it anyways.
Overall, despite leaving so stuffed it wasn't even funny, Le Cellier was a hit with both of us!
