One trip in February is just not enough! *Finished 5/7

Yeah!! I'm the first one to respond!! :woohoo: That might mean I'm spending too much time on here??:confused3 Oh well!

Great updatae. Can you believe I've been to WDW several times and have never seen Figment??? Since I've been on the boards, I've seen the error of my ways and will be doing that first thing in Epcot in November.:goodvibes

You need to see Figment! Of course, it's not as great as it used to be, but still! Go!

Alright, so after lunch, it was time to meander the countries. We had one mission to accomplish. My boyfriend can get a little bit like Eeyore at some points, so I've called him Eeyore before and apparently his Mom has been calling him that since he was little. We needed to get his picture with Eeyore. I knew that the Pooh characters are out in the back of the stores in the UK. We headed off towards the UK on our mission, I just hoped Eeyore would be there!

Of course, the characters are way in the back, so they're a bit hidden. It's great because there's never a long line. We had about 2 groups in front of us...then again, it also meant I heard, "are you sure you know where they are?" :rotfl: Am I sure? Silly boy.

Success!

And Tigger took a shine to me:

After our mission was accomplished, we just decided to meander. See where the wind took us :goodvibes

He got a little thirsty:
BirthdayTrip09307.jpg

(When I was little, apparently everytime I saw a water fountain I decided I was thirsty, so my parents have these pictures of me at the water fountains, so I thought this picture was funny...no one else gets it...)

Since he was thirsty, I decided it was time for some tasty beverages and look! FRANCE! :rolleyes1

We got these beauties:
BirthdayTrip09308.jpg

The one on the right is my Pomagrante Kir. It's not on the menu, but I saw the bottle of Pomagrante liquor and asked if they could make it and they could! :woohoo: Well...except she apparently didn't have champagne, only sparkling wine and she was trying to ask me if that was okay. I just said "okay" but really I wanted to say, "I'm American, I honestly don't know the difference."

We took a seat at my favorite spot:
BirthdayTrip09310.jpg

Watched the show:

BirthdayTrip09309.jpg

He tilted his ears, pretending to be tipsy, but you can't really tell they're tilted

BirthdayTrip09312.jpg

We also reapplied sunscreen so we wouldn't burn our fair skin. Haha...we're the whitest bunch of people you'll ever see.

After a while we took our drinks and started walking through the countries. Morocco was next

DisneyWinter09008Large.jpg

Then Japan. We spent a pretty decent amount of time in the store and tin museum in Japan. Then we took a walk back around.

BirthdayTrip09317.jpg

We were taking those pictures of each other when this gentleman comes up and says, okay, now the two of you together. Which was nice of him. We actually had a pretty decent amount of people offer to take our picture or ask us to take theirs. Apparently we look friendly. So anyways, this guy says to us, "So where you folks from?" We answered, "New York." "New York! I'm going to Manhattan this summer!" "Oh, we're from the other part of the state, Rochester." "I'm going to Manhattan this summer..." "...oh, well, that's nice too, hope you have fun!" :confused3 It was a weird exchange. I don't think he knew that there was more to the state than the city...But he was nice and took our picture :thumbsup2

Up Next: America...

So when are you going back? I don't want your TR to be over! We lived south of Orlando too, way down Pleasant Hill Rd, in Bellalago. It is a beautiful community, but way too isolated for me. We did tour Solavita, which is a little further down the road into Poinciana, and is an over 55 community. I really liked that because it was self-contained, had eateries, shops, etc. I have a few years to go before we could consider that, but only a very few years.;)

I have no trips planned. I have no idea when I'm next going back. I'm so distraught. :sad1:

I'm so behind!! Great update, I especially like the picture of your boyfriend at the water fountain! Also, I guess with your friendly faces and the Mickey and Minnie ears it was a picture taking combination!:lmao: I really hope that you are able to get another trip in this year. I'm going in November, I'm so excited I can't stand it. I keep posting so I can see my countdown ticker!!:) I was also thinking about doing a PTR, but I'm not really sure what the point of them are.:confused3

Great report!! Thanks.

Thanks for reading :goodvibes

:rotfl: I'm glad someone else liked that picture.

He decided it had to be the ears too.

Since my parents live down there, we did Thanksgiving in Epcot one year. It was loads of fun and not nearly as crowded as I expected (I was at the MK on the 4th of July once...NEVER again! :sad2:) A PTR is fun, I've yet to do one, but if I get going on another one I will! I think it's just a place that you can get excited about your trip and hash out your plans. If you start one, send me the link!

And oh my goodness, it's only about 3 o'clock or so on my birthday in my report right now...could I be taking this day any slower? On with the show!

We were off to America! For my favorite thing at Epcot: the Voices of Liberty. Oh I was so excited!

Before heading inside, we stopped at watched the Fife & Drum Corps.
BirthdayTrip09320.jpg

I love their show, that music to me will always remind me of home too. (I'm originally from Philadelphia, birthplace of our nation :teacher:)
BirthdayTrip09321.jpg

Right before they were done, we headed inside.
BirthdayTrip09322.jpg

There the one CM who's always there and has worked there forever and I love him even though I don't know his name stopped me when he saw I had the Birthday Button on and told me I had an important message, so I needed to pick up the phone and dial some extension (I forget the extension.) It was Goofy wishing me a Happy Birthday!!!! I had the biggest grin on my face, I swear I'm 6. My boyfriend was very confused by the whole ordeal. What's funny is that in all my years of going to Disney, I'd never heard of this, so it was completely unexpected and surprised me, hard to do! That CM gets a :thumbsup2 from me.

Alright, back on track: so as I was saying, we were heading inside for quite possibly my ultimate favorite thing at Epcot...the Voices of Liberty. Usually we'll try and nab a seat on the benches (on the right half of the circle of course) so we don't have to sit on the floor. Well, since I was detoured by the Fife & Drum Corps and Goofy, all the benches were taken  Not a problem, no one was really sitting on the floor yet! So I took my boyfriend and plopped him down right on the edge of the red circle, right in the center of the room. He's like, "what are we doing sitting here?!" (He was mortified...hahahaha.) "Ohhhh you'll see" Of course, I knew that they'll encourage you to sit around that circle in a semi-circle in front of them. So I decided to plop my little butt (or what I wish was little ) right in front. It was my birthday afterall...

Sure enough, they came out and encouraged everyone to come forward. He admitted defeat. Hah! Do not question my Disney knowledge :teacher:
BirthdayTrip09323.jpg

After they were done, we decided we really weren't in the mood for the American Adventure, we wanted to explore some more. Next stop was Italy...
I swear I didn't have any more to drink!
BirthdayTrip09324.jpg

BirthdayTrip09327.jpg

After Italy we headed to Norway. It was time for a snack. Can you take a wild guess what we got? :rolleyes1
BirthdayTrip09328.jpg

Well, the apple juice was for me, the school bread was for him. I'm not a coconut fan. :snooty:

After our snack, I went on the great troll hunt of 2009...seriously, these guys were everywhere and I have no idea where they came from because I had never seen them before :confused3
BirthdayTrip09329.jpg

BirthdayTrip09332.jpg

BirthdayTrip09331.jpg

Then it was time to use my final Birthday Fastpass....oh look, more trolls. Seriously...

BirthdayTrip09334.jpg

Back! Back! Over de falls... :rotfl2:

BirthdayTrip09335.jpg

Where to next??

Those little trolls are so darn stinkin cute! My favorite Epcot treat is at Norway too, the rice cream. Yum! We have another thing in common, I am also originally from Philadelphia. I was born at Methodist Hospital on Broad St, and lived in South Philly until I was nine.:)

I was born in Reading, I've always been in the 'burbs, but Philly is easiest to say :) We were out near the Plymouth Meeting area when I graduated from HS. Are you an Eagles fan as well?

Oh my gosh, YES!!!

After our "snack" and trip through Scandinavia, we headed to the Far East.

We were in the China Pavilion, listened to some of their lovely music and enjoyed the air conditioning. My Dad's favorite thing in Epcot is the movie in China. We didn't do it. Don't tell him. :ssst:

We did explore a bit and these guys all lined up for me and posed so nicely, I just had to take their picture:
BirthdayTrip09339.jpg

BirthdayTrip09338.jpg

What good sports they were.

We headed outside and there was Mulan! With no wait! So of course I had to get a picture!
BirthdayTrip09340.jpg

My boyfriend was standing to the side, so I called him over and Mulan called him Captain :thumbsup2

BirthdayTrip09341.jpg

Apparently... he's never seen Mulan, so he had no idea that she was a character. Just thought it was someone dressed up that I randomly decided to take a picture with :rotfl: He was confused. Even more confused when she called him Captain :rotfl2:

I impressed myself with these photos of the China Pavilion:
BirthdayTrip09337.jpg

BirthdayTrip09336.jpg

And we were off to Mexico. (Skipped back over Norway...) I don't think we did anything in Mexico besides maybe the boat ride and just kind of walk in and look around.

We decided it was time to head back to Spaceship Earth. I was good and hit English this time :rolleyes1 BUT! You know when they take your picture in the beginning? He did this: :love2:  And I gave him rats. He was a little surprised. Then realized why, but we got a good laugh at it at the end:
BirthdayTrip09344.jpg

BirthdayTrip09343.jpg

We still had quite a decent amount of time before our ADR, so we headed over and checked out Innoventions. I haven't been through in quite awhile. We said hello to this guy:
BirthdayTrip09342.jpg

And the Velcro exhibit was getting started, so we decided, well why not? And we entered. Oh, my goodness, we were cracking up. They even got us up on stage to participate. It was a good time. And we won an award :thumbsup2 (Just a sticker, but we kept getting asked what we won and congratulated, so it was fun!)

Since we still had time, we headed back to Figment to ride again. I really love Figment :figment:

When we got off, all the Figments were back to staring at me at the gift store, so my wonderful  boyfriend bought me this cute lil fellow:
FigmentBirthday006.jpg

He's posing with the Birthday Fastpass card. I finally remembered to take a picture of it so I could show everyone...Here's a close up of that card:
FigmentBirthday005.jpg

I ran out of room for pictures, so continued in next post...

We still had a little time before our ADR, but decided to head over to the Poly and check in awhile. Andddddd I forgot how close they are, oops  Oh well, better to be too early than late I suppose.

This was the first time I had eaten at Kona for dinner. I really loved it. You can read more about it in my dining report. After dinner we had about 15 minutes before Wishes. I had planned it so that we could eat and then head out to the beach. Of course, my original plan was to watch Wishes and then go eat, but Disney had to go and change the times on me :sad2: I enjoyed Wishes, but I was really expecting to see like 5 people out on the beach at the Poly. I don't know what I was thinking :confused3

We tried taking pictures of the fireworks, but they didn't turn out too well. Trust me, they were pretty ::yes::
BirthdayTrip09353.jpg

BirthdayTrip09354.jpg

Leaning up against a Palm Tree for the show:
BirthdayTrip09352.jpg

Then we headed to the hotel (Fairfield at the Marriott Village, on points!) and crashed :faint:

Only one more day (which will probably only take one update ) and then I'm done :sad1:

I'm craving Kona!! I have convinced my DH that this is one of the places we need to eat at in November.:cool1: I have read so many TR and DR that have the Tonga Toast in it, there's no possible way he could escape a trip to Kona!:lmao:

Funny about DBF, not knowing who Mulan is??:rotfl: I forgot that you said that he wasn't as DIS crazed as the rest of us around here. . . .

Great Job on the last couple installments. Your china pictures are great, the colors just jump out! Random question about when you took a picture with tigger and Eeyore: Did tigger tickle and like squeeze your side? He def did to both my GF and I on our last trip.

But isn't there a Manhattan in Rochester ??????? :confused3 :rotfl:

Thats great! Was he American?

:lmao: You can order a Manhattan in Rochester! He was American too! I went to school in the MidWest and when I graduated I moved out here, told people I was moving to "New York." Meaning the State since I didn't put "City" on the end... and everyone thought I meant NYC...oh well.

Yeah and by not "DIS crazed" I mean he humors me :goodvibes

I've gotta say, Kona is on the top of my list. I love breakfast there (obviously.) And I loved our dinner!

Thanks! And I don't think he did. He came over and jumped right in front of me, but I don't think he did much of anything else. At least he's an equal opportunity squeezer ;)

Thank you so much! I have enjoyed your photo's so much...We are planning to go again in November, and this just makes the planning more enjoyable. We've been going since the park first opened, and we had to have different tickets for different rides! Children, grandchildren, now just DH and I. Your photo's just made my morning!!!
