One thing I noticed about guests this past week..

One thing I noticed on our trip last month was that people really hate those scooters. I overheard more negative comments about the scooters than ever before, especially at the bus stops. It was really shocking.

Another thing I noticed is that when you are pushing a double stroller (or any stroller probably) you cannot leave too much room between you and the person in front of you. Otherwise, you get cut off CONSTANTLY!!!! At first, I tried to leave a large amount of room between our stroller and the people in front, but then other people took that as an opportunity to just cut me off. It reminded me of driving in downtown Chicago's traffic: if you leave just a little bit of space, someone is going to cut you off!

Luckily, we only encountered one very rude person. We were in line for an attraction at MGM and my dd7 accidently bumped into an older woman in front of her in line. The woman (she was probably around 55 years old), turned around and gave dd a dirty look. Dd immediately said, "I'm sorry". But this lady just kept on turning around and getting madder and madder. Finally, she stopped in line, had a look of rage in her face, and had us pass her by. Then about a minute later, she kept on trying to trip my dd!!!! I turned around to say something to her, but thought I had better just get away from her and not say anything. So, I asked a family in front of us if we could get in front of them because we were getting away from that woman. We didn't see her for the rest of the day, but I just couldn't stop thinking about this crazy woman who got so angry at a little girl for accidently bumping into her in a line at WDW!!!

We were there from 12/23 - 12/30, and while I witnessed a few "rude" actions by guests, the vast majority of incidents I saw or where are part of were due to just plain thoughtlessness. Most of the time, when people saw how their behavior was affecting others, they were sincerely sorry (people who just stopped in the flow of traffic to look at a map, not realizing that there were lots of people behind them, people's kids getting excited in ride lines so the kids would kind of bump into you...things like that). Members of my own party occassionally did something stupid...like, one night, my niece was kneeling by our table in a CS area and her legs were in the aisle, and an elderly lady had a problem passing her. She had just knelt down to ask us something, and none of us realized how far her legs were sticking out until the woman said something. And we were sorry and embarassed when we realized she was blocking the aisle. It was rather late at night, and we were all very tired and just forgot how crowded the place was.

The worst behavior I witnessed was on the flight to Orlando. One passenger decided that he wanted to watch a movie on his portable DVD player and figured that no one else in the plane would mind if he set the volume LOUD (he started off watching an action scene with lots of gun shots, cursing, and things of that nature). The flight attendant was a bit snarky with him when she told him to turn it down. In fact, all the flight attendants on that leg were snarky. It was a late flight, so they were probably all very tired!

We were there 12-17 thru 12-24 and I think if I had heard" I paid a lot for this vacation" one more time I would have hurled.I saw people using that line to bully their kids and worst of all CM s.I heard the line thrown out more than once at table service restaurants by people who hadn t planned ahead enough to get an ADR. I actually saw a man and his kids walk up to a CM at Soarin and go in to a rage about how much money he spent and he didn t expect to have to stand in line for more than 15 minutes anywhere. What a joke !

Although it would not be my first (or second, or third) choice for a week at Disney, we were able to enjoy ourselves last week. We went to the parks early, stayed until noon or one, then returned to the same park later in the day. We rode without fast passes in the morning (saving them), and used them when we returned in the evening. We were never turned away even if the "window" return time had passed. Overall, although it was crowded, we had a great time. We did bail from the MK on New Year's eve around 9 pm....it was just too nuts.
One thing that kind of surprised me was the lack of understanding of the Fast Pass system. I mean, they virtually beat you to death with the info and people still can't grasp it. I was behind a very upset woman at the RnR FP machine that had just gotten fast passes for Tower of Terror, and was trying to get them for RnR 5 minutes later. When the CM explained that she would not be able to get passes for two hours, she went into a rant.
On a positive note, we had a VERY magical thing happen to us at MGM on New Year's day. We arrived at 9 am and rode Tower of Terror. Before getting on the ride, my youngest got fast passes for a second ride. Well, I neglected to get the park tickets back from her, and while we were in line for rock n roller coaster, I asked for the tickets back. They were gone from her jacket pocket. These were tickets purchased as part of the disney soccer showcase, so there were no names on them, and whoever found them could have used them, as they were not "finger scanned". Luckily, an honest person found them and turned them in to Lost and Found! It was the one time that I did not write the serial numbers down from the back of the tickets, so we would have been out of luck!

Have people not heard of earphones? On the Washington Metro they have an earphones rule. They should have one on airplanes.
