We will be at AK for the day and looking for opinions on table service there.

We've been to tusker house for breakfast and have cape may and 1900 park fare already for breakfast meals.

Maybe looking for a dinner there instead?

Tusker house for dinner or yak and yeti are two thoughts.

Anyone been?
The tusker house dinner menu on allears looks plain.

Are there any good breakfast quick services at AK?

I don't have any personal experience with TS restaurants at AK but I have heard good things about Yak and Yeti. We will definitely be trying this one on our next trip!

Yak & Yeti is our favorite TS in AK. We've tried several entrees including the Mandarin Chicken Salad, Seafood Curry, Tempura Shrimp, and the Anandapur Duck and enjoyed all of them.

We love Yak and Yeti. The food is great and the restaurant is beautiful. It's fun to walk around and see all the artifacts after dinner. Be sure to check out the upstairs as well if you go. :)

so it's indian food? For some reason I had in my mind that it was Asian, more like Chinese food.

my husband doesn't like curry at all!! Or spicy food.

What do you think?

There is an Indian seafood curry dish, but most of the menu is indeed what you were thinking -- e.g., orange beef, lo mein, crispy honey chicken, egg rolls, dim sum, lettuce wraps, fried rice, etc. -- traditional "Americanized" Chinese food, along with a few other treats (duck, salmon, mahi and a steak/shrimp combo). We have eaten there a couple of times and really enjoy it. Even their burger is one of the best on property -- always seems weird to order a burger, but somebody in our family has gotten it both times, and we all end up sharing it.

Yak and Yeti is probably the best choice for your family. I first thought, Sanaa and then you mentioned he hates curry so that's out of the question, haha

I wouldn't plan your day around finding a solid, quick service breakfast at AK. There's not a lot to offer. Pizzafari has a breakfast menu, and the Kusafari Bakery (the name of which I might have just butchered) back in Africa between Tusker House and the Safari ride has some pastries and a pretty good hot breakfast wrap. There is also a "fruit stand" near the Safari that has fresh fruit (e.g., pineapple spears, watermelon chunks, oranges, bananas, etc.) if you want to at least start the day off with a little less guilt - ha!

I know they are in the process of dropping in a Starbucks, but as of last weekend, it's not open yet (not sure of opening date). There is also a Joffrey's coffee stand in the park (more toward Discovery Island/Asia-ish). Until this past Monday, I couldn't have told you jack-squat about Joffrey's, but I discovered at DHS that Joffrey's has an apple fritter that trumps almost every other snack option in any of the parks (for me, at least). I'm assuming the one at DAK has the same thing, along with several other donut/pastry type items. I have been generally opposed to the Starbucks food cabinet taking over where it has been going in, so I guess I'm a big hypocrite for singing the praises of a Joffrey's fritter...but so be it!

Anyway, there are "quick service" breakfast options at DAK if you search for them.

If you are looking for a dinner and Yak & Yeti's menu doesn't interest you, you could also take the bus over to AKL and try either Boma or Sanaa. Sanaa is fantastic!!

I'd actually consider leaving the park And heading over to AKL for Jiko or Sanaa. Both are far superior to options inside the park

We really like Yak and Yetti and usually go every trip on our AK day. They have a lot of choices on the menu including an excellent burger for the less adventurous eaters in your party. We usually order a rice, a lo mein and 3 meat dishes and share family style (family of 5). The food reminds me of PF Chang but better.
They are also a landrys restaurant so they take gift cards. I get them from my Discover points and we eat this meal FREE.

Are there any "Americanized" restaurants that take 1 TS at AKL? We went to Boma a few years back for Breakfast but never had dinner there and wouldn't mind visiting AKL again on the way back to our resort.

We are doing a QS breakfast at AK. Which QS places are open for B-fast?

I liked Boma dinner, and thought that the food was well rounded in that there was plenty of choices for all kinds of diners. I think that unless you really want a TS in the park, I would head out.

We are going to breakfast at Boma then going to Yak and Yeti during the day. Then back to Jiko in the evening to pick up our car.

Hopefully with all the walking we will not roll out to our car! :bitelip:

Rainforest Café is at the entrance at Animal Kingdom. It's definitely not a WDW favorite among a lot of people, but we enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere at the DTD location a couple of years ago, and we prefer more Americanized food also, so we are eating dinner there on our AK day in June. If you don't see availability on the WDW website, you can contact Rainforest directly to see if they have tables.

Tusker House is a must at AK for my family. For our second day there, we have eaten at Yak n' Yeti, took a bus to AKL and ate at Boma and also since the park closes early (6 pm), we have went to another resort all together. This year we are doing Hoop dee doo Revue on our AK day.
