I have been to WDW many times. This will be my first time on a 2-night only, 1 park only trip. EEEK! We are going down December 1st, checking into YC and hanging out. December 2nd is our only park day - mainly to see NPH at the CP. We have an 11 am CP pkg lunch at Coral Reef... which gets us into the 5 pm CP show. Never been to Epcot at Christmastime. I know they've cut way back on decorations and such.

What can we expect? In terms of weather, crowds, etc. We will be getting there for park opening, and will probably take a post-lunch nap before coming back for the evening/night.

What holiday things must we do there? Just mom and I (2 adults - no kids). What time should we line up for the 5:00 CP show to get good seats?

Just looking for tips to make our 1 day the BEST day!! :D

UPDATE: due to the removal of the Osborne Lights, it looks like we may add a day to our 1 day pass so we can see them for the last time on our arrival day 12/1. Last time we added a day to our passes it cost us $11 but that was on a 5 day hopper. What would it cost to add 1 base ticket day to our current 1 day base ticket??

I've been down to Florida a few times where I only had one day to hit a park and Epcot has been my choice every time. I'd just say slow down. Use it as a day to spend some time appreciating the little things instead of jumping from ride to ride trying to get in the most amount of attractions. The music loop at the front of Future World is the best on property, take some time to enjoy it. Things like that.

The last time my wife and I did our one day in Epcot and leave trip we spent a lot of time just sitting on a bench with a drink (coffee, wine, beer, whatever) and listening to the music loop and just soaking in the atmosphere.

A 2-day ticket is going to be almost twice as expensive as a 1-day ticket. The price to add additional days decreases the more days you have on your tickets.

First week in December, crowds should be pretty light. I honestly can't think of any holiday things at Epcot, Lights of Wonder were very cool but they are long gone.

Only other tips would be rope drop and book your FP+. One advantage of FP+ is being able to walk into a park on arrival day with 3 FP in hand.

We are going for other same time, a few more days for us tho. EPCOT is great during Christmas season. There are holiday stories around the countries in the W S and the decorations will put u in the holiday mood. Stay for Illuminations!
We are making this trip to see one of our favorite holiday shows.. The Osborne Lights, if you can afford the extra day then do it! This will be your last chance to see an amazing show, we are so sad that it will close down.
it looks like this time of year will not be too busy so plenty of time for people watching and just taking it all in ;)

It would be cheaper to add the hopper to your 1-day pass than to add an extra day. You could stay at Epcot all day and see all the countries Christmas stuff, watch the CP at 5 then head over to DHS for the Osborne Lights after that. I think they start at 6 if I remember correctly, so you could plan to get over there by 7. Of course that doesn't give you time to do much else at DHS, but if you're only going for the lights, you'd be fine. You'll be missing Illuminations, but since you've been many times, I'm assuming you've seen that show and I'd rather go see the lights at Christmas time!
