would you go to disney with one pair of shoes? we have short trip- arrive thursday am and leave sun am- thats 2.5 days of parks.

my kids will only take one pair of shoes, but i cant decide if i can get away with only one.

Unless we are going to a water park, or swimming, I only take one pair of shoes. If we are planning on swimming, then I'll bring a pair of swimming shoes. Other than that, I just bring my low top canvas Converse.

We drive when we goto Disney so we have lots of room. We always bring 2 pairs of comfie shoes and a pair of sandles or crocs. This coming trip we are also bringing winter boots. Thats more just in case for our northern part of the drive. I would at least say bring 2 pairs per person. Just incase you get one wet.

My vote is for two pair of shoes. I find that after a long day of walking at the parks, even my most comfy shoes can decide to become a problem. For me, I'd bring my sneakers and my crocs (the crocs are so light weight in luggage it's almost negligible.)

I'd never bring just one pair of shoes. I got a terrible blister a few trips ago, while wearing shoes that I could have sworn were extremely well broken-in. So glad I had an alternate pair with me. What's comfortable at home, running around town, is totally different than WDW -- you can log 8 to 10 miles a day, easy.

Plus, if it rains heavily, it's nice to have two pairs, so you don't have to put soaking-wet shoes back on the next morning.

I recommend at least two pairs of shoes for everyone, including your kids.

Whenever I'm doing that much walking (MILES each day for many days in a row) I always bring more than one pair of shoes and rotate among them. Really helps avoid blisters and seems to help keep my feet from just getting plain 'ol worn out.

This last trip was almost 3 weeks and I brought 3 different pairs - all well broken in. :thumbsup2

I always over pack. Last time we went I had a suitcase dedicated to shoes alone. The sad part is we never wore anything but our Crocs, which we wore to get to Disney.

Next time I am going to try VERY HARD to only bring Crocs and water shoes.

I would say that no matter how much I pack, I always buy a pack of nice fluffy socks for each member of the family, except hubby who goes sockless in a pair of docksiders---EWWWW.

I think you can definately have too many shoes but never too many socks. Oh and mole skin saves the day for me. I always get a blister in the worst spot.

I never had any problems with blisters, ect, and I brought several pairs of shoes. My son (ashamed to say) didn't wear the same shoes for more than one day the entire trip. I am really weird about his shoes matching his outfit. The point is, I think that you need to change up your shoes daily, even if alternating between two pairs, to reduce blisters.

Always take two pair of shoes. Always.

You never know when your shoes are going to get wet (perhaps a rainy day) and you'll need another pair of shoes to wear so that the first pair will throughly dry out.

Its also better for the shoes to rotate them so they will last longer.:teacher:

I have worn Teva Ventura Cork for the last 3 trips, and while I brought other shoes (Keens, Teva Toachi, runners) the only time I wore anything else was one evening with a dress and they were also Teva Venturas but the ones with the higher heel. So if space is a premium because you are flying or in small car then sure take the pair you think you will wear as long as you have done that level of walking in them before and they are either quick dry or water proof in some way NOT runners they will not dry out fast enough. Just have $25ish set aside in your head in case you need to purchase shoes because something happens.

I always bring at least 2 pairs of comfortable shoes to Disney. Sometimes I will wear one all day and then switch at night. It seems to help my feet.

I bring 2 pair: My well broken in sneakers (New Balance) and my Crocs or Teva Mush. I wear the sneakers for full days in the parks, the Mush to the pool and for evenings.

Nope. We were there over Thanksgiving and all of us had 2 pair (I had 3 pair). We were all very thankful we did that due to a major rainstorm one day. Was very nice to return to the hotel and get dry shoes on. ;)

We always bring a couple pairs but that didn't even work for us this time. My youngest son's feet hurt so badly we ended up buying him a pair of Helly Hanson (sp?) from the Norway pavillion while we were there. He LOVES them. They are the most comfortable sneakers he says he has ever worn. The heel pain went away completely.

hey - OP here, we just got back from our trip. We did take 2 pair of shoes each. Our trip was short- just 3.5 days. I wore the same pair everyday, but DH switched off due to MAJOR rain on our 2nd day. OUr kids wore the same pair each day- after the rain day we threw the sneakers in the dryer so they would be ready for the next day. We saved the back up pair of shoes for the trip home. I wanted to be sure to have dry shoes for that day.

I always pack for myself and DD's: 1 pr of sneekers, 2 pair of crocs (to match outfits), 1-2 pair of flip flops, one other pair of shoes or sandals depending on what we are doing or wearing. (last trip it was their silver sneekers to match the costumes. they wore them on the plane since they were velcro closure and easy to take off at security) sounds like alot but then I tend to overpack. :rotfl:

we didn't end up wearing the regular sneekers much we worer crocs every day. It was nice having 2 pair to switch off. I think in cooler months we would wear the sneekers more.

DH gets 2 pair of sneekers and crocs flip flops.
