Neither one is complicated.

oasispaul said:Tell that to the hundreds of thousands of families that have been completely overwhelmed by a "vacation" to Disney World. There is a reason that an entire industry is based around the sole act of PLANNING a trip to Disney World. This board (and that industry) would not exist if Disney was nothing more than a simple, 'fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants, no-planning-required' destination for most people (no doubt for some it is). It's all relative, but most people (who have been to Disney World) will agree there are few family vacations that require the level of planning that a Disney vacation requires.
Not a big mystery to me.
I do both. I get a fp then do the standby line. In my experience the standby line is rarely correct. Every time I've ridden TSM and the standby says 50 minutes, it's been off by 15 minutes.
Next, I don't really want a mickey bar or visit the shops. visiting the shops imo is about as boring as all get out for me. I don't buy tons of junk while I'm on vacation and sorry most of the stuff to me is just high priced junk from china. I visit them when I go to dtd and that's enough.
Lastly,
I don't rate my vacation by the number of rides we do. Now that my kids are older they really don't get whiny while waiting in ride, we actually have fun. Disney's cues are part of the fun for us so we tend to talk, laugh, take pictures.
Not "high priced junk from China" Almost never has anyone gotten thru TSM in 15 min when the standby line reads 50 min. No ice cream?? What fun you sound like.
I really don't worry about why other people do what they do at Disney. I do what I do and enjoy myself.![]()
I think she means she got through in 35 minutes instead of 50 (off by 15 minutes).
Some people are on diets/healthy eating plans or don't care to spend a lot of money on food. That's cool.
But I absolutely agree with you about the shops. They're not all about about buying stuff. If the PP likes inching past the theming in the lines, I wonder if they've ever wandered into the shops and taken a good look at the theming there? Has the PP ever noticed, for instance, that the big shop on Main Street has a mural in the back wall that's identical to the facade out front? Have they looked at the names on the windows, and talked to cast members?
I get that it could be an important ride, and you have FPs for something else. I also get the "riding back to back" plan. It's a great idea when the lines aren't terribly long. And if you're good at judging the "real length" of the lines, then that's awesome. But sometimes lines are even longer than posted, and I did feel sorry for some of the bored tired people we ran past in the FP line. A few of them were sitting on the ground, with their heads in their hands!
Another thing... My husband suggested that an Argentinian tour group we spotted in a 60 minute line may have been parked in the standby line to keep them out of trouble while their guide had a break. So that's another reason, I suppose!

I didn't say I got through in 15 mins, I said it was OFF by 15 minutes. Meaning if the standby line says 50 minutes we're usually on the ride and through the cue in 35 minutes.
We don't eat ice cream and you some how correlate this with no fun. Must be the dis type of math.
But then it doesn't matter what I "sound" like to you, to the people who are actually important to me, they're happy.
You're obviously not a world traveler, it doesn't cost that much to go to Disney!
